Who ya got? I started watching in 2013 so in terms of the best team to be WNBA champs, I think I have to go with the 2013 Minnesota Lynx. They left no doubt, going 7-0 including this drubbing of the Phoenix Mercury.

Stats would suggest it's the 2000 Comets, even though most Houston fans rate that team third amongst their four championship winners
The Hollinger Method says it's the 2014 Mercury

I’m obviously very biased, but the 2014 Mercury were unstoppable.
This is where the starting five ranks on the all-time scoring list:
1
4
16
28
29
That lineup was also huge
6’0
6’1
6’4
6’2
6’9
I just don’t think anyone is touching that team. There was a stretch between 2013 and 2016 that the Mercury could have ran the table if they had everyone available and healthy. They couldn’t even defend this title because Taurasi sat out the next season.

I remember being excited that Taurasi was sitting out the 2015 season. And then I'm sure you remember Maya being fouled and hitting the free throws to win it at the end in game 2.

I'm surprised to see the 2011 and 2017 Lynx ahead of the 2013 Lynx. Hmm.

Relying a lot on my memory, but it would be hard for me to vote against that 2001 Sparks team against any of these others.

The statistical methods all have limitations. They're a place to start the discussion.
It's hard to compare across different eras. The 2001 Sparks had practically no bench. They essentially won it all with six players. Hard to imagine that nowadays.

I’m drawing a blank on the roster besides LL and DMJ of course. Was this the team with Ukari Figgs at the point? I know the following year they won on Nikki Teasley’s 3

Just the same, I'm gonna go ahead and try and imagine that anyway for this year.

The best is always the one that was your team. Very simple. And if you are fortunate to have multiple championships, they are all the best!

Vegas, more or less, just won with 6 players. Gray, Plum, Young, Wilson, Stokes & Williams.
