Hope it's not a health problem. People that size often have issues.

Now AFO can come back here and tell us all the things he had to keep quiet about in the past to avoid getting fined.

If it is indeed true that Laimbeer reads Rebkell, I'd just like to say thanks for entertaining me for all these years of and for your contribution to the game of basketball. Hope you are well and I wish you a long and happy retirement...unless you change your mind and want to come back! Peace.

Great statements posted above. As a Liberty fan, I am grateful for all Bill Laimbeer gave to our team--as well as his wonderful contributions on Liberty pages here as LFO.

I would be thrilled to hear Laimbeer's candid remarks on his WNBA years, including what he might say about Hideous Lord Jimmy (James Dolan).

Happy retirement! Would love to buy you a beer again if you find yourself in Brooklyn for a Liberty game.

He's not going to get the 20 years required by the WBHOF to be inducted as a coach

Is there a year requirement for being inducted as a GM? Maybe if they measure it by trades instead of by years he has a shot. Very Happy

Maybe the game passed him by a bit toward the end, but overall a great career and lots of positive contributions to the league. Thank you, Bill, and may you fully enjoy your retirement.

Interesting, because a head coach/GM with his resume in the NBA would be pretty much a shoo-in for the Naismith. I doubt he'll get in there either - because let's face it, you need to do more in the women's game for that recognition than in the men's - but it's an interesting test case. Van Chancellor got in but he had decades in college on top of the Comets years. Gonna be interesting if people like Thibault and Reeve who've built their careers almost entirely in the WNBA receive that level of recognition. Already assuming that people like Hughes and Agler won't get it.
