I knew Geno was perfect in national championships, but only 11-10 in the national semis was pretty surprising to me.

Would not have guessed this would be the low scoring semifinal

If you said 12-9 was going to be the score at the end of 1Q, I would have guessed it was the other semi. Both Paige and Azzi shot hunting is a good sign for us.

Evina's block!! Cool Very Happy

Stupid foul by ONO for her second Rolling Eyes There certainly can't be any whining about UConn favortism from the refs.

Stanford needs to see what they have to do to get that lid off of the bucket. They can’t even make easy shots

I would really not want to count on that if I were UConn

Still running behind the torrid scoring pace of the early game

Christyn needs to play better (i.e., not settle for quick jump shots).

Does Lexie have a nosebleed issue (i.e., is this common)? Did she get hit in the face for the first one?

Stanford only 3-7 on free throws. Actually shooting a better percentage than UConn now from the field.

Some ticky tack fouls called, and then a lot of contact on players cutting through screens off-ball toward the end of the half on both ends that didn't get called.

Lexi got hit in the face in the first...hence the nose bleed

I realize Jones shot reminds me of Catchings. Shot put style.

UConn has six former U16 or U17 or U18 players for USA Basketball. Stanford has five. UConn has two former McDonald's All-Americans. Stanford has three. Both teams have three foreign players. The Hull sisters are probably the least honored playing tonight with regard to their high school days.

Williams having her worst tournament game in two years -- an offensive nonentity so far.

as I said before, if we shoot 3-17 from 3, we lose. Right now it's 2-16. sigh.

Just started watching again in time to see them throw it to Brink in the post 3 times
That didn't go well and they alternative has been threes, of which they are 2 for 18. Time to drive..

This is a good example why you do need to go for the threes at the end. If you are down four, you can only gain ground if the other team misses free throws. When they don’t miss, you lose

Go for a three or don't, but you can't stand there back to the basket looking for someone to pass to. Need to show more urgency about getting the shot up.

Woof. Free throw shooting aside (which was thankfully stellar), UConn worked very hard to give it away in the second half of the 4th. But survive and advance.

How did UConn win that? Outside of Edwards and Muhl, every player was somewhere between bad and terrible.

Muhl consistently makes the team play better. I’m still not completely sure why. But it’s just evident every time she’s on the floor.

Edwards is really strange in the clutch. She makes four to five unbelievably huge plays, and one horrendously stupid one pretty consistently.

Bueckers obviously isn’t 100%. She’s excellent at getting her shot with screens, but her explosiveness isn’t there yet. Stanford played her really well.

Despite being invisible most of the game, I’m proud of Williams for sealing it with the free throws.

Also, kudos to Fudd. She had a freshman Diana type of final four performance, and still made all the free throws.

I don’t think Fudd and Bueckers will be this bad in the finals. That being said, will either team break 40?

Mild surprise to me.

UConn's defense and (finally Hallelujah!) good free throw shooting win it, despite a bunch of dopey turnovers and fouls especially in the last three minutes. Stanford's defense was also really good.

Nice job Aaliyah Edwards in crunch time.
