This will be a low scoring game

That seems likely. And it gives the Cardinals a chance to win. In a close game, a spurt by them, or a cold spell by the Gamecocks, or a hero play, or a lucky bounce, can win the game for the Cardinals. Or vice versa.

Yeah this could be an ugly affair and Louisville does have a puncher's chance, imo.

But I do think the Cock defense will be able to neutralize HVL somewhat, which should be enough to carve out a win.

The line is Cocks -8, up from -7.5. I hope it climbs some more.

This is a bookie line or a Massey-type line?

An actual online Sportsbook line. I've seen -8.0 and -7.5 on different sites.

Btw, I was happy to see that the Sportsbooks lines are the same or VERY close to the Massey Ratings we've been following for years.

I will be pleasantly astonished if Louisville wins. I guess if SoCaro goes into one of its 'can't hit the broad side of the barn' modes and fails to utilize their huge advantage inside while Louisville goes 10-20 from three, it could happen.

Mark Emmert made the trip and is sitting in the front row

SC - wants it bad. Aliyah still feels the sting of last year's bitter loss.
LV- wants it badder. Jeff wants to redeem and finally get the ring.

Me? I'm happy for either of them to win. Each deserves it to this point - can they earn it on the floor.

Here's to: No injuries. Great reffing. Cool

(Oh, yeah....my prediction: SC by 10)

Of the top 7 players for Louisville in minutes played, only two came to Louisville out of high school.

Not a fan of "post can push defender towards the basket before shooting" modern ref's choice.

Can’t get over the “post up” by pipsqueek Van Lith. I was thinking she must have Alicia Clark moves or something. Instead she does an Aja Wilson post move - dribbles away from the basket and turns for a jumper. And has her jumper blocked for the second time.

Did Van Lith travel on that shot?

I mentioned this on another thread. Pisses me off! You can't put the the defense at such a disadvantage and expect them to not get frustrated. NCAA needs to fix that.

Looked up and saw Geno walking in. Thought it was Muffet with him at first! Then realized that would never happen!!

Beal is universally recognized as SCar's best defensive player, isn't she? Blocks, steals, rotations--impressive.

Engstler was mad at a SC defender and purposely ran into her coming down the court. Then she picked up a foul reaching for that players shot on that possession. They have little chance with her and none without her so her three fouls is not good for Louisville.

Louisville could have the lowest “rotation height” of any final four team in history.

SoCaro has not faced a team this whole tournament that had any height. They definitely had the bracket set up for them. That will however change tomorrow, whether it's UConn or Stanford.

Louisville has missed several layups and given up too many wide open ones. Can't have that when you're trying to beat teams better than you.

Surprised they have more offensive rebounds than SC, particularly given the shooting percentages are closer than they were early in the game.

I swear I hate ESPN sometimes.....do we really need a long shot of this girl Emily crying after fouling out? And, we certainly didn't need a split screen while the game was going on.

I know she plays with passion, but her coaches needed to settle her down early in this game. Emotions wound up tight after the second foul sent her to the bench.

I like Engstler more than Naz Hillmon or NaLyssa Smith as an all-around player. Tough game for her.

Can't beat SCar if you hit zero 3pt shots and only 4-7 FT's.

I'm pretty sure ESPN is convinced that athlete tears cure cancer and end world hunger.
