You could be right...or not. UNC is a very skilled, disciplined unit that uses the same group for most of the game and doesn't seem to have a lot of fouling problems. But SC is more physical. It should be interesting.

Not to be dense, but any reason to put both sets of games on at the same exact time?

Well, YAA. In case one game sucks, you can watch the other one without waiting around. Razz Laughing

UNC's leading rebounder is 6-1 - their size in the post is not that great: they have 2 6-4 posts, but neither play a lot of minutes, and average around 2-3 ppg. Their talented 6-3 freshman G/F Teonni Key hasn't played all season after injuring her knee in a closed scrimmage during the pre-season against....South Carolina. But the Tarheels have still managed to play outstanding defense all season....

Presumably so that we always have some action on the air during the timeouts and quarters.

I'd really like to see this game, but I'm going to gag if I have to listen to Peck kiss Dawn Staley's ass and over-hype Aliyah Boston for two solid hours.

I may end up watching more Ohio St - Texas and the St Peters - Purdue men's game than I had intended.

I would have thought that the more obvious way to stagger them would have been to have the Spokane games start later...just based on time zone stuff.

Ironic isn't it that ESPN is covering the screen with a Boston POY Campaign poster and talking about her winning the POY and Nation Championship while ignoring that in the action on the floor UNC scores again to eliminate the deficit and tie the game.

Well that was an amazing waste of the final possession of the quarter.

UNC doing surgery on Cock's Maginot Line defense. But the Cock guards are in outside hitting mode. Close.

Cooke and Henderson shooting lights out and producing most of the SCar offense.

UNC better get out better on perimeter defense or they're going to have a big problem, because just counting on these two cooling off is probably not a good strategy.

Although I don't expect UNC to stay as cold shooting for the entire second half as they were the second quarter.

To beat S. Car. you have to (1) shoot 50% FG because your not going to get many offensive rebounds, and (2) hope the S. Car. guards are cold from the outside.

Unfortunately, neither is happening for UNC so far.

Gamecocks extend their lead to 56-45 after 3 periods of play. Victaria Saxton ties her career high of 13 rebounds through 3 quarters and added 6 pts to that. The Gamecocks have out-rebounded the Tarheels 36 - 25 thus far. UNC is in some foul trouble....

She grabbed her around the waist to stop her. How is that not an enhanced foul.

(Notwithstanding Peck's cheerleading for SC)

Well with 2 missed free throws and a bad turnover, UNC has given away their chance to pull out the win.

UNC not ready to take this game. Sad because they are talented enough. Just aren’t executing when it matters most.

Also, very very odd coaching decision here to not extend the game.
