I think Georgia has the potential to pull off the only upset of the day.

I wouldn't be surprised by any of the lower seeds winning today. Except Kansas, that would be a shock.

UH, I think Creighton took care of that already...

Well, this one is sad. Georgia is already down so far it’s going to look like up 36-16 ISU with a minute to halftime. I don’t know what was in the mind of whoever did the seeds on a whole lot of levels.

Georgia had such a strong run earlier in the season - they are about to finish 3-6 on the a disappointing end to it.....

Georgia went total SEC in the 3rd period and bodies flew everywhere with fewer whistles than would be expected. It didn't help the score though.

(sigh) Iowa State 67 Georgia 44. Staiti came back from a slow start with 16 points 5 blocks and 9 boards. Morrison 10 points on 3 of 13 shooting.
Donarsky - 20 points for Iowa State. As. Jones 12 points and 10 boards.

ISU is growing on me now that I am seeing them more. I'll now concede they are a top 12 team.
I like players who are shooters even if they are not necessarily track runners and jumpers, and Fennelly seems to recruit lots of shooters. 3pt shot -> BANG! FT -> BANG! Slithery drive -> BANG! Fun to watch and effective. |

I didn't get to watch, but Georgia 2 for 2 FTs and Iowa State 14-20 FTs. What was up with that?

Iowa State played a sagging zone that largely kept Georgia from driving and forcing fouls. That both limited ISU's fouls and meant most fouls were not of the shooting variety.
There weren't a whole lot of fouls called either way, and 6 of ISU's 20 FTA were in the last ~2:00 of the game (including two with 0:01 left when a Georgia player fouled an ISU player dribbling out the clock). ISU only had two FTA in the crucial first quarter when they got out to a 16-point lead.
