I take it OK is not equipped to handle a dominant big. They just want to beat you from the 3P line.
Lee up to 27 pts with time left in the first half.

51-27 KSU at the half
Lee 32 pts (12-16, 8-9 FT), 6 reb, 0 TO, 3 blk in 17 min
That’s nearly 2 ppm.

Lee with 49 pts end of third.
Might as well go for the record (60?) at this point.

Haha! Lee's got 55, with half the last quarter left!

Gotta find some way to see this game. I can't recall offhand a WBB player scoring 61 points. That's Chamberlainish! |

She is a wonderful college player, but she would get eaten for lunch in the W. She is not fast or athletic.

So why has Stephanie Dolson lasted so long in the W? Dolson is less of an athlete than Lee and she has been in the league a long time.🧐

Think: Le'coe Willingham. Taj McWilliams-Franklin. Becky Hammon. There's a bunch o' gals who were/are not fast or athletic, in comparison to most wnba stars, BUT had extended careers as pros. I think Ayoka reminds me a bit of Crystal Langhorne: she wasn't the biggest/strongest/fastest post player, but she had a long career as a pro. AND. Ms. Lee is 6'6" (...they say??)
For now, I'm more inclined to judge her on her performances against other collegiate centers. She held her own against a stronger premier center when they played the Gamecocks - Boston outplayed her, but didn't exactly dominate her. Personally, I hope she stays for another season right where she is.

Because Dolson is a wonderful passer and she can shoot from the outside. Lee is a true, back to the basket post player with very little game outside the paint. I hope she does well, but I don't see it. Look at Megan Gustafson. She was NPOY and can hardly make a roster.

Lee catches high, holds it high, shoots it high, and rarely puts the ball on the floor. Also, her guards are very effective at getting her all manner of accurate post entry passes. Impressive.

Damn. I considered watching this game.
I don't even remember what I chose to watch instead. NFL pre-game?? How It's Made? Nothing?

Kitties has some great young perimeter players as well who make really good passes from either the top of the key or from the wings. These passes are up high, and delivered to Lee’s outstretched hand that is away from the defense. Great passes that lead her to the goal. The 4 staring guards are all 6’0 or 6’1 and 3 of them are true frosh. KSU had 28 assists on 33 baskets and 22 of those assists were to Ayoka.

Does McCowan get eaten for lunch? They are comparable size and speed. Nobody is particularly fast at that size. You need the guards to be fast for a transition game. The bigs can give them outlet passes. For the half court game, size like hers is pretty nice.
It all depends on her future aspirations. Does she want to be prominent in professional basketball? If she doesn’t have the passion for it, maybe take a pass. If she does have the passion for it, then you’d be crazy not to give her serious consideration.
