Yeah, I've been beginning to harbor some of those same doubts. I sent you a PM to that effect Myrtle. I had been giving that "I wouldn't be opposed" the benefit of a doubt. At this juncture, I'm struggling with deciding whether we should draft a team of spares or just move forward with the people we have that we're drafting as they're the ones who have been committed to the teams.

Does anyone have any objections if we move forward without Tally and OK StateGuy as we haven't heard from either of them in ~6 days?

I feel a bit bad for them since they're both newbies to the fantasy game so could very well want to play but just not realize we had to start this early to get the draft in. But we really can't afford to sit around and wait either.

I'm inclined to go ahead with the draft without making up a dummy team since we surely can't in good faith make up two dummy teams. And if they subsequently show up, then let them go ahead and 'catch up' to the point where we're at.

I agree with what Myrtle said. It has taken almost 3 days and we haven't even finished 1 round of drafting. I think if they post within a few days, they can catch up.

I think so. I had to brainstorm after my praying for Kierstan Bell to fall to me didn't come true Laughing

Happy to have taken Kierstan Bell from you. Razz My pipe dream was that my fellow Iowa native Ashley Joens would fall to me in round 2 but I knew it would never happen.

Yeah, he almost didn't get Joens in the first round. Twisted Evil

I was between Howard, Joens, and a bunch of other players.

To echo what Myrtle said, I do have a twinge of sorrow for the newbies -- but the grueling nature of a draft means that we must move on with getting our teams sorted -- the last thing we want is for the season to start without our teams being complete and drafting...takes an unfortunately long time.

coyote, FYI it looks like OKStateguy hasn't posted anything here on the college threads since last Tuesday - on the B12 thread. His comment about the fantasy "I wouldn't be opposed to one" was not exactly a resounding yes...so I'm wondering if he really wants to participate? I'm thinking we can't really afford to take 4 days to do one round of the draft even assuming it will speed up once we get that first round in.

I do tend to not post much, but I do view daily for future reference. After the allowed slow nature of the draft to this point, and the talk surounding Tally's pick, I felt like I had time to make it through a Monday of work that was full of meetings to pick rather than trying to squeeze keeping up with this during a work day I didn't really have the time to do so. Frustrating and understandable, but it's all good in the grand scheme of things.

As per our rules, you're welcome to make your first round pick now. Actually based on your original position, you can make both your first and second round picks, then UC Bart can make his.

If you've changed your mind about playing though, please let us know.

yes as myrtle said! Okstate could definitely pick twice right now if he wants!! Once for the end of first round pick and once for the beginning of second round pick.

G- Vivian Gray of Texas Tech
G/F Jersey Wolfenberger of Arkansas

Texas Tech has her listed as a G, but she basically played the 4 for them last season, so I will let someone else make the decision on how to classify her.

Wolfenberger has Dewanna Bonner potential, especially in Neighbor's system.

Thanks for still allowing me to participate!

Fascinating re: her position. Clicking back through the archives of OK State's roster, I see they listed her as a Forward before she transferred to TTech. But after transferring, TTech has listed her as a Guard. Definitely need the rules gurus to weigh in on this one. Razz

One of the reasons she allegedly transferred is because Littell played her as a big guard, but in high school she basically played as a stretch 4. She wanted to go back to playing like a forward, but they never changed her listing when she got to Tech. So she felt labeled appropriately at OSU but played outside her preferred position, and is mislabeled but playing within her desired position at Tech. It's a trivial thing to work through lol.

OKstate, I’m very glad to see you around! As soon as I have a moment, I’ll update the draft order to have you in it again. In any case, UCBart is on the clock still.

I’ll post my full thoughts later,

Coyotes will be bold as he doesn't need Myrtle to have yet another standout from Belmont. Destinee Wells, G, Belmont.
