You could hear a pin drop in Crisler Arena tonight on the first defensive play when Amy Dilk collapsed to the floor with a knee injury. It looked like the dreaded three letters based on previous viewing experience. Crying or Very sad

Horrible. I feel bad for Amy and the team. Every player will need to step up.

I'm always wishing I could actually watch some B1G games but their wonderful tv package prevents it. Pity.

Nothing "confirmed" but the wording of this seems to indicate that, whatever it is, it isn't season ending:

Yes! I heard the same interview, and Amy was using just one crutch. Leigha on the other hand appears to be regressing in her return from injury. She played just 2 minutes tonight and went right to the trainer and ice.

Hopefully Naz Hillmon doesn’t get overexerted in the meantime. Even if Dilk and Brown eventually recover from their respective injuries at some point this season, this team will need Hillmon to still be in top form by March.

Ashley Langford is a good coach. Okay, so she’s got some legacies…but it ain’t the legacies, it’s what you do with what you get left!

11/16 games:

Rutgers loss -- see above.

Leigha Brown DNP tonight for Michigan. (Dilk obviously still out, too.) Naz with a quiet 19 and 6. Leading scorer... Kiser, Rauch, and Nolan all scored in double figures -- they will need to keep this up. I see Verajao played 3 minutes... is her role going to increase to something comparable to what it was in the 19-20 season?

Indiana trailed midway through the first quarter against Norfolk St due to a combination of sloppiness on offense and Norfolk being hot from three. But they regained control of the game and cruised to an easy win.

Maryland doing Maryland things. Hope to see Miller back for the matchup vs. Baylor.

Nia Clouden flirting with a triple double vs. Valparaiso -- 18 9 and 7. Interesting to see how Mich St fairs against Fordham, FGCU, and ND later in the non-conference season. These games will be telling in judging just how deep the Big Ten is going to be this year.

Makenna Marisa of Penn St put up 30 pts and 11 ast against MEAC dungeon dweller Delaware St.

Some Big 10 Fan you are. Doesn't even want to comment on the amazing triple double that Makenna Marisa had? She did it the hard way too! 10 steals to go with her fabulous game against Delaware State.

Pretty sure PSU's +69 is the largest point differential of the season so far as well, at least against DI teams, so great job Coach Kieger as well!

Leigha and Amy were in warmups on the bench. Per KBA’s pregame radio interview, Amy is working hard on rehab and Leigha had a setback in her recovery from a previous injury. Both are technically “day to day”, but I doubt we’ll see them for a bit.

Maddie Nolan hit a career-high 6 threes. Emily Kiser and Danielle Rauch had career high in points. Naz played a pretty low number of minutes for her at 26.

Izabel Varejao is not up to speed. She was foul-prone her freshman year and that seems to have continued. Almost a year away from the team by being stuck in Brazil seems to have impacted her conditioning/game speed.

I hope the Wolverines can get through this injury period and find their identity for 2021-2022. They are definitely missing Hailey Brown and Akeinreh Johnson along with Amy and Leigha.

Clark with a triple double tonight in a 87-67 win vs. Southern, despite Iowa shooting 1-15 from three in the second half. Our defense needs some work if we are going to continue shooting that poorly. Our 3P% is down from last season. Iowa's competition gets significantly harder now. Drake at home, then USC and Seton Hall in Cancun, followed by Iowa State, Duke, and Michigan St all within a week's time. I hope we are ready...

Nebraska with a great win over Creighton, 67-62. The conference needs to win these games if we want a chance at 7 or even 8 tournaments bids.

Iowa won’t play their next three games and will miss their trip to Cancun due to Covid.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Iowa women’s basketball team has canceled Sunday’s home game against Drake out of abundance of caution due to positive COVID-19 test results within the program. In addition, Iowa’s appearance at next week’s Cancun Challenge has been canceled.

“We’re obviously disappointed but understand this is the right decision,” said Lisa Bluder, P. Sue Beckwith, M.D., Head Women’s Basketball Coach. “Our team and staff have followed best practices. But unfortunately, a number of individuals experienced symptoms and tested positive. We will continue to follow the guidance of our medical staff and look forward to returning to the court.”

The Iowa Athletic Ticket Office will be communicating with individuals who had purchased tickets to Sunday’s game.

So sad. I just traveled home to Iowa for Thanksgiving break. I don't get to see many games in person so I bought myself a ticket to the Drake game. Sad I won't get to see it obviously, but more sad for the team. Of course, everyone's safety is the most important concern.

one wonders about Arkansas now since they just played there. Did they expose players there? It's the danger of the players being on the court without masks...and only half heartedly wearing them on the sidelines. Plus coaches and others with masks pulled down half the time.

myrtle, is it possible you’re confusing Iowa with UConn? Iowa’s last game was at home against Southern.

This is a particularly unfortunate stretch of our schedule to have canceled. So far we’ve played cupcakes. Our next games were to be Drake, Seton Hall, and USC — not yet top 25 competition but teams that could beat you if you don’t play cleanly. Now, when Iowa resumes play, we have to play at Duke, home vs Michigan St to open conference play, then at our biggest rival #14 ISU — all within 6 days. Shocked Shocked Shocked
