Congrats to the Sloot on her trip dub. Damn, the Sky definitely won't let her go after that

But will Slooty end up letting the Sky go at some point? I'd say the further the Sky make it into these playoffs, the less likely it is that she'll be inclined to leave...

It's important to note that Parker is signed through next year. I could see Vanderquigs each re-signing on one-year deals anyway. #skytown

Thanks, I see how that could be the case. I've never really heard Miller speak in press conferences or interviews. Apparently, he was born in a small town in Erie County, Pennsylvania. Does anyone know if that is some kind of Western Pennsylvania accent?

My ex-wife was born and raised in western PA. I'd say, not really.

The way she's playing I don't see it happening right now.

But, I'm feeling a little vindicated right now. I had the Sky in the finals even though their season didn't look like it. Although, I'm not ready to discount the Sun all together....but, what will hurt them is what always hurts them in the finals. NO BENCH. They were outscored by 7 against the Sky. What will they do aginst the Aces bench when everyone is clicking??

Yup-This Sun team is the same team that got dismantled by Seattle in the CC. They played a soft-ish schedule down the stretch, where most of their tough games were at home, and they have guards that can't score. Basketball, for all intents and purposes, is a guards game....and the Sun have the worst backcourt of all the teams left in the playoffs.

We all knew JThomas & January are a terrible offensive backcourt. The problem for this game was, neither one shut down either of the Vanderquigs on the defensive end, which is supposed to be their calling card. Sloot & Quigley had a combined 31 points on 9-23 FG (which at 39% isn’t terrible), and then of course Slooty made whatever passes she wanted to. The defense especially on Sloot seemed soft & not very stifling. I’m guessing that dynamic will change for Game 2 a little bit, since the Sun almost won at multiple points of the game anyway. If Sloot at least continues to have her way on the offensive end though, the Sun are in real trouble.

Yeah, the Sun backcourt isn't gonna shoot you into a game, but they can keep you in it and create a release valve for DB and the Joneses. But I know Briann got into foul trouble which definitely hampered her. Jasmine going 1-9/0-4, that can shoot you out of a game. AT is still finding her way back into shape and trying to get her feel again.

Having CVS go 4-11 is workable, but having her dish out 18 assists is unacceptable for a defensive minded team like the Sun.

As for the Sky, CVS kept you in the game with assists AND rebounding. But you don't want her to be the leading rebounder again in game 2. The Sun had 17 offensive rebounds, which can't happen again for the Sky to succeed. Also, Sky have to cut down on TOs, 3 players with 4 each is a lot.

Game 2 should be very interesting. I want to see what adjustments each team made after game 1.
