LJ is in the house and got a standing ovation as she walked to her seat.
Pre-game tribute to Sylvia Fowles with a good ovation.
Pre-game ceremony for Briann January where she was presented with a jersey of the four teams she’s played for.
Moment of silence for Bill Russell.

I don’t think I adequately described January’s jersey. It was split in half on the front and back with each quarter panel being one of the teams. Kind of amusing and fun.

As usual had to mute. Dick Fain is the gold standard for horrific broadcasters. Ann Meyers Drysdale went to his school. "How to be a rabid fan of your team and question every call going against your team while completely ignoring nasty things your team is doing." Thankfully most of the other home broadcasters don't act like rabid fans who've had too much to drink and are fun to listen to.

Not a remotely close game, but still an enjoyable one on January-celebration-plus-bonus-standing-O-for-LJ night.
Fingers crossed that Talbot's injury is not too serious.

Yes, God forbid anyone get excited about WNBA basketball. We can't have that.

You can be excited without being insufferable. I felt he was being quite patronizing towards the Lynx. He’s a home broadcaster and SEA has only lost at home 4 times this season, so some of his arrogance probably sprouts from that. But SEA also has the worst road record of the Top 6 teams. Let’s put it this way, Charles and Fain are the two biggest reasons for me to root against SEA success, and that’s with a team with mostly likable players.

They are always complementary and respectful of all the great WNBA players.
I just can't imagine watching some other teams home broadcast and being annoyed that the broadcasters are familiar with that team.

There’s excitement, and then there are the inimitable vocal stylings of DICK FAIN!!!!!
But the Phoenix crew is worse, because they are both unabashed homers and disseminators of inaccurate information. And after the debacle against Atlanta, the Aces crew slides all the way to the bottom of the list.

Bingo. Most of the home broadcasting teams do a good job of providing extra info about the home team, getting excited along with the home crowd, while also acknowledging screw ups of the home team on the floor. The bad ones see a dirty play by the home team and find some way to turn it back on the other team (in an incredulous voice).
What do I know. I grew up listening to best home announcer in the game - Vin Scully, RIP. He was even even-handed against the bad, very dirty playing arch rival SF Giants. And Vin knew how to make a foul ball exciting. "It's a long fly ball in the corner, it's sailing, it's going but... catches the wrong gust of wind at the last minute and goes foul." Yeah, I was spoiled by the best.
