doubling down on cambage is not in the plan? obstruct her movement, don't let her move her feet.

How was that not a foul on Cambage at the end?

Cambage is having the game of her life. She must really want to get LJ a gold medal.

Come on Team USA! Wake up in the 2nd half please!

Maybe I'm being cocky, but the law of averages will balance this out. No way Australia keeps this scoring up.

That means she's gonna be dead the second half. I congratulate her on the focus and energy she's put forth in the first half, but she'll need to repeat that for AUS to have a chance in ths game. I don't think it's gonna happen, but we'll see. Very Happy

why Geno didn't opt to go with Fowles AND Charles guarding Cambage is beyond me?? Then have either Parker or Catchings at SF guarding Jackson. The Aussie guards can't shoot, but I'm glad it's a good game. I think the USA will get their act together for the 2nd half.

2nd half adj-

put pressure on the ball...cambage cannot hurt you if she cannot get touches

no more fcking easy layups...knock somebody's ass on the floor.

no more dumb turnovers.

get diana going, or put seimone out there on the perimeter to light somebody up.

everyone need to step up their defensive intensity.

RUN, RUN, RUN....LIZ will tire out.

Even if this game turns into a blowout at the end. I love the Opals effort and how they played so far. They are showing that they really deserve a medal and that they are still the 2nd best team of the world even without Penny Taylor.

You dont see me saying that she will keep this up and that the Opals will keep this up. But you cant say anything bad about that first half for her

If we get less of Diana Taurasi's bricks and more of Fowles defending Cambage, we should be fine.

Me too. We are finally playing smart and playing hard. That's all I can ask for.
Where was this against France? Sad

USA completely failing to exploit our many weaknesses.
Why are they not pressuring our guards? Why are they not going at Liz? Why are they allowing her so many easy catches down low?

The American guards are getting worked by the Australian guards. Neither Whalen or Bird have been able to keep Harrower and Richards from

a) penetrating
b) entering the ball to Cambage and Jackson
c) getting open threes.

If the guards play better, Cambage won't be able to get the ball.

And too many forced one-on-one shots haven't helped.

Finally, CP has played just awful defense twice against Cambage. All that talent and she's never bothered to defend, which is now catching up to her.

USA had better get their asses outta their dufflebags with and with the quickness...Just like the men against Lithuania, this is the women's wake up call and they had better wake up and come out firing on all cylinders in the second half or else, they are doomed...

Austraila has the all the momentum right now and I love to see teams who can keep the USA on their toes...That will make them dig deep! (at least I hope so) Smile

This isn't a fair criticism without mentioning that Parker is only on her because Cambage would have 30 by now had Charles been left out there...
