Do you feel we have one more trade in the works before the draft?

This will probably be seen as a little out there but let me draw it out

Dallas now

Dangerfield/Burton
Ogunbowale/Dickey
Deshields/Sabally/#3
Howard/Kiuer/#5
McCowan/Collier

Sabally could be moved to back up PF Burton can slide to the SG spot #11 could be out Dickey but IMO Dallas needs a better lead guard and probably doesn't need all it 1st round picks and 3 and 5 are more likely to be wings but some of them could play the pf spot Dallas kind of still needs a lead guard

LA

Thomas/Clarendon/Canada/Liwei
Brown/Carter/
Burrell/(KLS missing season maternity)/Talbot Probably suspended for the season because of injury overseas)
N. Ogwumike/Hamby
Stevens/C. Ogwumike

LA has lots of guards is very thin at the wing due to the loss of Talbot and KLS for the season and could really use a big wing

so Carther for pick #5

Dallas
Carter
/Dangerfield
Ogunbowale/Burton/pick 11 or Dickey
Deshields/Pick #3 (Miller or Horston)
Howard/Sabally/Kuier
McCowan/Collier

LA
Clarendon/Canada/Liwei
Thomas/Brown
Pick #5 (Jackson or Siegrist)/Burrell/(KLS)
N. Ogwumike/Hamby
Stevens/C. Ogwumike

both teams address their biggest issue and still look strong and deep

weird or does it kind of work?

I see where you are going with it...only problem is there is no way Collier beats Kalani Brown out on training camp, nor does Dickey survive! I predict all 3 1st Rd Pks make the cut.

May need a couple of Behavior Science Specialists to help the coaches with this starting 5.

LOL....I could actually see it working😁

Dallas just needs to sign whichever PG gets cut from LA.

Who do you think that will be?

Canada

I agree plus she's on a TC contract.

Rickea Jackson looking like the one.

Jackson's 26 points against LSU marked her eighth straight contest with 20 or more points. Her eight-game streak surpasses lofty seven-game efforts by Candace Parker (2006-07) and Bridgette Gordon (1987-8Cool and pulls her within one of Chamique Holdsclaw's program-best spree, when the four-time All-American recorded nine in a row during the 1997-98 season.

Offensively, Rickea Jackson looks WNBA ready, she could be the best player in the 2023 WNBA Draft when one looks back years later.

Agreed , I have recently jumped off the Diamond Miller Haley Jones boat . The best future WNBA player's im seeing in this draft reside from the SEC . I want Jackson in a Wings uni so if Satou does not work out we have her replacement.

Might have jinxed her. She only scored 17 pts on 19 shots against South Carolina today, so Jackson’s 20-pt streak ends at 8 games.

i mean, it’s looking like they’re on the cusp of being a Top-16 team in the way that matters

which, not bad considering how rough their start to the season was

I believe with a Healthy Tamari Key they would have 3 top 10 players and be a top 10. They are clearly top 25 material outside of bias aspects if LSU is considered a #1 seed potentially.

Key just announced she'll be back at Tennessee in '23-'24: https://tennessee.rivals.com/news/tamari-key-announces-return-to-tennessee-next-season

and if she applies for a redshirt for this year, she could conceivably return for both next season and the following season. that said, she'll probably only stay one more season if all goes well

participating in Senior Day doesn't actually mean anything definitive, it just sorta offers a hint about what a player's plans could be

it'll be useful for me personally if i do another mock draft, for example

the one participation decision that stood out to me upon looking these players' Senior Days up was Taiyanna Jackson not participating in Kansas', whereas everyone else's participation decisions didn't surprise me all that much (including Jacy Sheldon's)

and then there's the other end of the spectrum from Tamari Key: Ashley Owusu, who didn't participate in Senior Day (she's not participating in many VT wbb-related activities nowadays tbh) but is apparently not coming back to college after this season ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't think she met the cut off period to redshirt with her terrible conditional injury . But she needs to stay , she was a top post player last season and it was obvious something was different with her at the beginning of their season . Glad she's better and returning .

She absolutely meets the criteria to redshirt, if she chooses to go that route. She only played in 9 games, less than 30% of the season. That said, it would be mind-blowing if she wanted to play in college for 2 more years.

Not bad at all, Spooner. Kitley at #8 seems like potential bargain.

Thank you, Spooner. Is it too late to make you the Lynx GM? Surprised

there's really been no consensus #2 yet, so it's likely whomever the holder of the pick deems to be the bpa

really just depends on whether or not the common thought with Siegrist across the league is that her game will translate

feels like the surprises could start happening early on in this draft

I think 2-7 is really a toss up

I picked H. Jones at 2 for Minny because I was trying to think a couple years in the future who would be the best compliment to Collier and Jones' size, defense, passing and being able to impact the game without needing a lot of shots seemed like a nice pairing

Someone compared Siegrist to Collier on the offensive end and I kind of see it. I am still not fully on board with Siegrist at the W level she has possible tweeter issues IMO not big enough to guard or be guarded by posts in the W and not fast enough to guard or be guarded by SFs in the W. Clearly teams playing Nova scheme to stop her and it hasn't really worked but she also doesn't come up against many players with W speed, size and strength. full disclosure I wasn't convinced that Collier would translate and she is an all-star so Siegrist could go the same way.

How about the Lynx drafting Kitley at #2 or a trade down?

if they really don’t have any strong feelings toward any one player, maybe. they may just try to see if she’ll fall to 12. if she doesn’t but still ends up somewhere close, maybe then they try to trade up.

i’m not so convinced Atlanta will take a post with either 1RP, not if Kitley is the only post worth taking at 6/8 and they either aren’t feeling her or want to focus more on Mompremier & Rupert

To me, Rickea Jackson resembles Rebecca Brunson but can score and like RB she can rebound and be little nasty at times. How many WNBA titles has Rebecca won...5? And, Rickea played against South Carolina who, to me, are as close to a WNBA front court as can be in college.

Siegrist is harder for me to accurately dial in. She's a great offensive player but she's always had 4 shooters around her and she played in a conference that was tough but it didn't have a lot of bigger guards and front court players. She's definitely a high first round pick, in my book, but harder to scope in.

With Reave picking second, the Draft really starts after her pick and therefore, anything is possible, including a trade.....????

I can see Mike T staying at #4 and selecting a player or trading the #4 pick for top value.. I believe the Mystics need a Wing Forward who can shoot 3s

So does Dallas along with a PG . Maybe Mike T is ready to Shop Tash ? She enjoys being in Dallas a lot even without significant others playing on the squad anymore...ijs Laughing
