Why do I already know that Sykes and Wheeler are going to score 20+ apiece?

I still don't really get how Chiney is still injured, if it's indeed due to right knee "soreness". Sore from what? Neutral Before training camp, she hadn't played competitive basketball in two years. And now she's about to miss her 7th-straight game...

High heel shoes might be the cause of her knee soreness. She has to look good for her ESPN job.🧐

Chiney is always hurt. She's averaged 18 games/year over her career.

Chiney should just give it up. Has she ever been impactful?

Yep! Plenty players in this league stay hurt. Look at A. Powers....

Laughing As they should! Teh. No one on Phoenix can guard them.

This Phoenix defense is beyond tragic.

Kia is in her head too much. Girl it's 4 seconds on the shot clock, take the damn shot.

Sandy.... BG and Skylar are both on the bench? Okay.

Good for Sophie. Too much Vaughn in that half, methinks.

7 of 14 from 3? At this point, Phoenix needs to give up the 2's and not both. Geez.

LMAO! BG goes to the bench when the team is down 2 to start the 4th. I have my good eyes on you Sandy Brondello.

What was that? BG didn't even take a shot. Trash.

Nurse was just awful tonight. Those minutes from Walker and Vaughn were brutal as well.

I know it was against the Sparks, but I’m hopeful Sophie can build off this performance. Her shot was finally falling and she looked confident. The mistake at the end was unfortunate.

Ultimately, I blame Sandy. To start the 4th with Walker and Vaughn out there was inexcusable. And the pulling of BG in the moments she did is also inexcusable.

No answer for Brittany Sykes in the 4th. Peddy did a good job defensively on wheeler after she killed us and what a great shot by her over BG.

Double Doubles for BG and Skylar in another loss. At this point, I believe that Sandy needs to go. I believe that Kia Nurse and Walker were not good acquisitions.

Based on Diana's presence on the sideline for this road trip, I expect to "surprise" see her on Friday.

So we got a win even without Cooper's energy? Nice! Cooper cann be pretty reckless at times, but she is big & strong enough to play the Big Bully role a la Chelsea Gray. It will be nice to see how she develops as her game matures.

Sandy sitting BG to start the 4th didn't make sense to me. Didn't she pull her to end the 3rd? Or was it Skylar? Whomever it was, it was foolish. I get that they need rest, however, she should've thought about that when she was building a bench that wasn't providing anything.

At this point, Vaughan could've been scrapped for Breland. They gave up draft picks for Nurse and Walker. I know Diana and Bria are out but what defense are they going to provide. Hoping that Sophie is able to continue this success. Kia and Walker do not need to start.

That was a clutch, difficult shot from Wheeler to seal the game. Here's a clip of it: https://twitter.com/TheAthletic/status/1405382537900290055

I will say, Fisher is doing a lot more with less, compared with Brondello & what she has to work with... inexplicable loss after inexplicable loss for Phoenix, truly.

I disagree about the losses being inexplicable. I find them entirely (and depressingly) predictable.

32 mins is probably the most mins Cunningham has played since she's been a Merc.

With all their loses stacking up A.Smith must be really bad to pull another DNP

I can understand having certain players on a super-short leash, but it's unusual in an undermanned team to not give them an opportunity at all. Makes me assume there are off-court factors.
Which makes for an interesting Opals dynamic really soon. Smith may be a fringe WNBA player but she is an important piece of the Opals, with the same coach.

Ending Cunningham's rookie deal prematurely always seemed odd to me given how useful she has been on occasion, combined with our roster/salary predicament. I'm happy she did well (judging by the boxscore ... I didn't actually get to see the game and have no desire to catch the archive)
