Gamecocks storm out to a very strong first quarter, leading Tennessee 29-13 after one period of play. The Lady Vols were plagued with fouls and turnovers, and South Carolina is already in the bonus going 9-10 at the free throw line, including 3-3 from Zia Cooke on a fouled 3-pt attempt. Cooke and Aliyah Boston lead the team with 8 points each.

Kinda expected the Gamecocks to have a cold 2nd quarter, after having the red hot 1st Qtr. Dawn Staley is deathly stubborn about her rotations from quarter to quarter, regardless of how the scoring is going.
But thankfully Tennessee went ice cold as well, even though they out-scored the Gamecocks 12-10, USC still leads 39-25 at the half. One strong positive is the free throw and 3-pt shooting has been very strong thus far, and those are often the weak points in the tougher games.....

South Carolina holds off Tennessee in the 3rd Quarter to outscore them 20-14 and lead after three 59-39. I'm feeling better about this one......

The #2 Seed South Carolina Gamecocks win a physical and at times emotional rematch against the #3 Seed Tennessee Lady Vols 67-52, to advance to the SEC Championship Game for the 6th time in seven seasons. The Gamecocks (21-4, 14-2) will face #4 Seed Georgia tomorrow at 2:00 PM.
The Gamecocks were led by Zia Cooke with 17 pts and 4 rebounds, by Aliyah Boston with 15 pts - including 2-2 from the 3-pt. line - 11 rebounds and 2 blocks, and by Destanni Henderson with 13 pts, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Not Tenn's finest showing this year. Shooting 36-14-67% while committing 18 TO's and getting out-rebounded isn't going to get it done against a top-5 team.
