Another honor for former-CU assistant coach Tanya Haave now with the Denver Pioneers. Haave was the first woman to be named Colorado Sports Hall of Fame High School Athlete of the Year and in 2004 was inducted into that same Colorado Sports Hall of Fame.

She'll be missed in Boulder, but on the bright side, it gives me good reason to head down to Denver whenever possible to take in a Pioneers game.

Congrats to her. She played down here in the WNBL for a couple of years and was a solid contributor for the teams she played for.

Haave also interviewed for the Duke assistant coaching position (that ended up going to Tia Jackson). By all accounts, she was very popular with the players.

She also interviewed for the head coaching position at St. Louis and expressed interest in the same job at Colorado State. She's a proven recruiter, with international connections and can list the likes of Ceal Barry and Pat Summitt as references on her resume. I reckon it's just a matter of time before she's a Division I head coach, and when she is, I think she's going to be a very, very good one.
