Could this because of the elections result?
I know Michael Moore kept it out of the documentary category to propel its chances of getting a best-picture nomination, but it certainly backfired.
I don't think it's worth of a best-picture nomination, but it would have gotten a best documentary feature nod, that's for sure.

Maybe that will deflate his ego a little bit (probably not Laughing ) Annoying man but I do like how he manages to whip many conservatives into a frenzy.

He whips more liberals into a frenzy than conservatives.

At least we're spared...no acceptance speeches that get cut out. But I think he missed a chance to get a standing ovation from his liberal peers in Hollywood.

Those are the peers that chose not to nominate him, right?

Actually, we know the people who get to vote are the old timers and past winners. I think he wouldn't have a chance in the main categories simply because as art, his documentary isn't good. There are better films, simple like that. But Moore's ego didn't stop him from trying.
I was surprised by quite a few nominations, including that of Colombian actress Catalina Sandino Moreno. She deserved it, but she'll probably lose to an American with less talent and more publicity as it was the case when Fernanda Montenegro lost to Gwineth Paltrow.
I wonder if Jamie Foxx can go home with two awards...also, I wonder if now that he was nominated, Leonardo Di Caprio will actually show up. And will he show up with Gisele? Wink
