Tennessee and UConn both riding one game win streaks clash Saturday.

Hey, Tennessee fans do have one positive that has been developing, we have found a senior leader, Shyra Ely has decided someone had to do it, and has stepped up and starting talking and keeping the troops together. If I can think of anything else, I'll let you know. The Defense is solid for UT, but the offense is solidly stuck in nuetral, Loree Moore and Candace Parker may both be ready for the UConn game, but I wouldn't expect much from either, Loree has been sidelined since the early December after having her tonsils removed, and Candace has just started practicing with the team, so she can't really be in game shape, and she had swelling the last time she flew, which was expected, but it's a concern none the less.

I love my girsl(LVs), but the offense is still really stagnant, the hustle level is inconsistent, we have about 3 that are bringing effort to every game, the rest are erratic, and I don't think the game being against UConn will change that, one can hope, but inconsistency, and a Pat Summitt offense are the problems, of course Pat isn't going to change and can't very well create a new one at this time, so it's going to take mucho effort to get points.

The Texas meltdown in the 2nd half, 11 points, makes Tennessee's 16(maybe it was 17) points in the 1st half at Rutgers look not as bad, but it was, it was pathetic. Brittany Jackson and Ely are the only two that really are looking to score, Hornbuckle normally puts up her fair share of shots, but I think it usually has more to do with the clock and her being the point guard. I never in a hundred years expected Tennessee to struggle like this, I think the frosh are all very good, but the chemistry/system/mojo is just not working this year, and without concerted effort Tennessee is not pretty to watch.

We've got Providence Tuesday, so momentum on a 2 game win streak most likely. Consistency will be the issue for both teams for the rest of the year I think.

Did you ever think you'd see a UConn-UT game that means very little? This one I think will mean nothing come tourney time.
