Pedro Martinez closed in on a four-year deal with the New York Mets, and the Boston Red Sox resigned themselves Monday to losing the three-time Cy Young Award winner.
"He was a great member of the Red Sox team for seven years, and a certain Hall of Famer,'' Red Sox president Larry Lucchino told The Associated Press in an e-mail. "He will be missed, and we are disappointed to have lost him to the Mets and the National League.''
Let's see who wins the prima donna battle now, Mike or Pedro.

That's a pretty funny picture. I remember watching that game and going "WTF" every other minute lol...
Too bad that next year the Subway Series will be played in May and June and I won't be able to attend it. I went to Shea this year and the Mets won the game.

I just want to personally thank Pedro for screwing the Red Sox, showing he's 100% a me-first person, and giving me another reason to dislike the Mets.
Throw in us getting Pavano, the Red Sox signing David Wells, and baseball wise it's been a damn good last few days for me!
