Stanford may not fall off as much as expected this season due to its 3-pt shooting. They opened with 18-34 behind the arc against LeMoyne and followed that up tonight going 14-20 against Washington St. That is 32-54 (59.2%).
Sunday the Cardinal host Gonzaga on ESPN2 when they unveil Tara VanDerveer court.

I don't care if you're playing against a HS varsity team, that 3pt % is insanity.

It’s a great start but a long and grueling season.
I think a solid season for them would be finishing 22-6, likely ranked 20-25ish, avoiding any bad losses in conference play (will be so tough with their travel schedule), and a 5/6 seed in the tourney.

UC Davis is givin' 'em heck right about now. Close one for much of the game, with the Aggies taking a lead for a bit in the 3rd.
Stanford's 3% a bit more human this time around, 4-19. But not looking horrible, given all the talent they've lost - some nice young talent there. Nunu's got some chops.

So now we know that Stanford absolutely needs the 3-pointer to be successful. After cruising in 3 games shooting 57% from 3 they struggled against UC Davis going 5-20 and an abyssmal 2-11 in their first road game against Indiana. That puts them at a solid 52-109 (48%), but only 18% on the road.
I think 22-6 is highly optimistic, but that would be much higher than a 20-25 ranking. 19-9 is more reasonable and could still be the edge of the top 25.
