If she goes to IU, more power to her. I think she'll fit in well.

Alabama PG Loyal McQueen proves disloyal and commits to Clemson. Perhaps this will help get Clemson somewhere out of the ranks of cellar dwellers?

Articles saying LSU needed help in the backcourt.
Am I living on another planet?
In what world does a team with Mikayla and Flau’jae, not to mention Last-Tear Poa, need four guards to transfer in.
How is the world is Kim managing these minutes?
Will Morrow suddenly be their center and they are playing a 5 out game?
I am just really struggling to see how this works.
Mikayla and Flau’jae are future WNBA players and 30 minutes a game feels like a no brainer. If you give Poa her 15 or so from last year, the back court only has 45 minutes for the four who just joined via the portal. Gilbert won’t be happy with a non-playing role. So that leaves 20ish for the others.
I can not mentally solve this as a situation where all leave happy and confident in what is happening.

This one stings ... Purdue's Mary Ashley Stevenson has entered the portal.
She was B10 FOY and Purdue's best recruit in a long time.

I think that is part of it. I think planning long-term is another aspect. I think building a roster that has the depth to play small or big is another. They definitely struggled against the smaller teams this past year.

"ATHENS, Ga. — Nyah Leveretter, a former four-star, top-100 prospect who spent the past four seasons at Kentucky, has signed with the Georgia women's basketball team, head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson announced Friday.
The 6-foot-2 forward from Blythewood, S.C., is the SEC-best fifth top-100 prospect to ink with the Lady Bulldogs in the 2024 class. She will have two years of eligibility remaining at Georgia.
Leveretter is an experienced SEC player, who saw action in 65 games with 32 starts during her time with the Wildcats. As a shot blocker and a rebounder, she averaged close to four rebounds and totaled 15 blocks during her junior campaign, before suffering a season-ending injury."

In answer to another question, Kimmie apparently needed help in the backcourt SO bad she went out and got: Shayeann Day-Wilson (5'6 Jr PG, Toronto, ON) from Miami (FL); Kailyn Gilbert (5'8 So G, Tampa Bay FL) from Arizona: and Mjracle Sheppard (5'10 Fr G, Kent, WA) from Mississippi State. How many of them will be cooling their heels on the LSU bench all season?
Colorado Transfer Aaronette Vonleh (6'3 Jr F, West Linn OR) Announced her commitment to Baylor.
Miami (FL) transfer Latasha Lattimore (6'4 Jr F/C. Toronto, ON) landed at UVA
Pepperdine grad transfer Jane Nwaba (5'10 W/F, Carson, CA) has signed on at Vandy
Washington grad transfer Jayda Noble (5'11 G, Spokane, WA) landed at Cal
Miami (FL) transfer Lazaria Spearman (6'4 So F, Dacula GA) committed to Tennessee
Ohio State transfer Emma Shumate (6'1 RS So W, Dresden, OH) to Michigan State, who also get Ball state transfer Nyla Hampton (5'7 Sr PG, Huber Heights, OH)
LSU transfer Haley Van Lith (5'7 GR PG, Wenatchee, WA) ends speculation and finally signs with TCU

Princeton guard Kaitlyn Chen grad transfers to UConn.
I really don't understand this unless Geno knows something negative about the health of the abundance of other guards he will have. Chen never impressed me that much in most of the games I've seen her in, though she played well against UConn, and she's only a 29% career 3pt shooter, which is worse than Bueckers, Shade, Arnold, Samuels, Fudd, and probably incoming frosh Ziebell and Cheli. Why does he need a below average 3pt shooting PG who will just take minutes from recruits or never get many minutes?
What UConn mostly needs is big C or PF. No arguable big on the current roster has proved herself (Patterson, Brady) or has ever played a college game (El Alfy). From the portal, Raegan Beers is the obvious experienced solution if she is interested in UConn.
I suppose one could interpret the Chen pickup in a few ways, including that Geno knows he will not get Beers so he just picked the next best available player who was interested in UConn. |
