Kara Lawson is my favorite Tennessee player ever, and I hope she has an incredibly successful coaching career.
Just not tonight.

I'd be surprised if KK hits 20% of contested layups; she constantly misses or gets blocked or tied up. She must improve on this. |

Paige misses two free throws and then commits a bad foul, her second (the first was also bad). Remains in the game.
Duke competing with Oregon State for most/worst turnovers.

Geno didn't trust Brady to play less than 3 minutes when Edwards picked up her 2nd foul, and then she picks up her 3rd. Could cost us majorly.

At the half, I can't recall two more pathetic and anemic offenses in an E8 game. Iowa would be up 20 points on either of these teams. |

up by 12 points with whatever, like three minutes to go in the half and you keep both Allyah and Paige in there with two fouls each. Kind of stupid Geno!!!

Paige rushing a little and forcing some shots. I think we need some more (quality) shots for other players.
How much will we fatigue in the second half?

Not watching the game but just checked the score and had to do a double-take when I saw 23-13 at the half.

And you still haven't: this is the S16  (and your premise remains, of course) |
Yeah, been watching the men too and am getting confused. Still, the worst in S16 or E8, although UConn has come a little alive in Q3 except for stupid 4 fouls by Edwards. |

Meh. A win is a win, but I'm frankly not optimistic for any more if UConn keeps having to rely on three scorers per game and poor 3pt shooting.
UConn's defense was good, but most of Duke's numerous turnovers and lousy shooting were self-inflicted wounds. |

I really, really hoped Duke would look better tonight. I think this was a case of freshman nerves seeing UConn, since there are so many freshmen on the team. But frankly, UConn, other than Bueckers, looked pretty crappy too, and I think the next team they come up against will smash them if they play like that. Their lack of depth is what's going to do them in, finally.

I think it was mostly the size of the stage - the program hasn't been here for close to a decade. The kids have to learn to manage nerves. We'll be back next year with more experience and stronger post players (who can make a freaking layup).
