NY seemed like they threw in the towel last game. I don’t think they can mentally bounce back and win this game. I’d love to see them put up a fight but I’m not optimistic.

I wouldn't bet against NY in this game...

Too many factors can change.
Hot and Cold shooting.
Officiating.
The NY crowd.
Adjustments.
Foul trouble.
Injuries.
Defensive strategies.
Player desire and intensity.
Intimidation.
Loose balls.
Bench play.
A great deal of money lost by many should LV sweep.
Etc. Etc.

My NY strategies would be:
Try to force Gray to go left.
Try to force Wilson to go right.
*Must neutralize Jackie Young from running the floor and shooting 3's.
To me, Jackie Young is the key for beating Vegas. The others will get their points and so forth but Jackie Young makes the offense lethal and opens it up for the other players. She must be offensively curtailed for NY to win. All up to you now Sandy... Laughing

I remain hopeful the Liberty will find themselves again for both games in Brooklyn. They've got to find that fire and focus. Plus Brondello has to make some adjustments as she's been outcoached by a lot.

It would be good for the league, and for the momentum the team seems to have made in NYC, for the Liberty to show up and win game three. I couldn't care less who wins the series but I think it would benefit everyone if the Liberty win, or at least are competitive, in game three.

If the Libs get swept, it will be embarrassing on so many levels that I don't think I have to list out here.

The petty side of me, however, hopes they do get swept because former Sky players shaded the team to varying degrees (although some was deserved criticism). Are they finding that the grass is greener somewhere else?

During a conversation with a co-worker after the last Liberty loss, we almost simultaneously said that Sloot should have just stayed here! Laughing The sad thing, as another co-worker stated, was that she's just showing who we knew she was...

It's hard to want success for the Aces organization - although I love the team - with the Hammon drama deepening.

I just hope it's a good game tomorrow!

I think sports are more interesting when there are eras of super teams or super athletes. Excellence. Expectation. Envy.

The Yankees, Celtics, Lakers, Bulls, Comets, Jackie Joyner Kersee, Janja Garnbret, The Fabulous Moolah.

Crush 'em, Aces, and get more clicks for the W next season.

Harder for some than for others, it would seem.

Well the good news is, having already predicted the Liberty in 4, you can at most only be wrong one more time, this season.

I think the Liberty are going to win Game 3. They're a much better team than they've shown. They've shown that they can beat the Aces, including the Commissioner's Cup game, which though meaningless, still had cash on the line. They haven't even had the chance to play the Aces at home yet this series.

Breanna Stewart's shot has been off more than it's been all year, and it's not like a former Finals MVP is in over her head here and can't be expected to right things. Same with Sabrina Ionescu, who also is shooting worse than she has all year. I expect at least one of them to find their touch in the more familiar home court surroundings, especially since Liberty security can stop Tom Brady from deflating the basketballs. 🙂

Yes, the Aces are playing swarming defense, but so were the Sun in the semis and the Liberty came up with answers. When I say that Sabrina and Breanna are shooting the worst they have all year, that is taking the excellent defense into account. If some of the open misses go in, suddenly everyone can't swarm so easily.

I'm not sure the problems on defense can be fixed, beyond the fact that if the Liberty shots go in more, the Aces' transition game won't get out and running so easily. But that could be a difference maker. Success on one end breeds success on the other.

I didn't think the Liberty would win the series, and I definitely think even less of their chances now, but I think they will show what they're made of in Game 3 and avoid the sweep.

Aces won't be crushing today. NY playing much better team offense, defense, passing and assisting than in the first two games. No one on the Aces playing super, and they've missed a lot of makeable shots.

godDAMN it was good to get the gang back together

I looked away at precisely the wrong moment and it took the group chat freaking out for me to realize Chelsea Gray was hurt.

Still no status update on Chelsea? Has Becky spoken to the medical staff yet?

I'm sure that Becky would like the Liberty to wait as long as possible before they find out whether Chelsea is playing or not.
