I feel like the ESPN article is further shitting on her by focusing nearly entirely on him.

No kidding! Not only a shit headline, but the first paragraph only refers to Gondrezick as "his girlfriend" and "the woman". Way to dehumanize her, ESPN.

The scumbag was released on $75K bail. Prosecutors had requested $100K.

LOL! Welcome to the great state of NY. I'm surprised any bail was set. This state is an absolute dumpster fire, mess.

Do you really think any amount of bail would have been more than a momentary inconvenience to a moderately successful NBA player? The inequity inherent in the existence of cash bail is an Area 51 discussion. I think we both agree that he should have been held without bail for what he did.

Kysre Gondrezick’s lawyer warns of ‘misleading’ info in Kevin Porter hotel assault case

https://nypost.com/2023/09/13/kysre-gondrezicks-lawyer-breaks-silence-on-alleged-kevin-porter-assault/

Quote:
Robert Hantman, an attorney for Gondrezick, told The Post exclusively in a statement on Wednesday morning: “Ms. Gondrezick wants to express her deep appreciation for the public’s support and prayers. In regards to our client, much that has been written in the press attributing statements to her are misleading and inaccurate. She has not granted nor released any statements on her own volition.”

The statement further adds, “She asks everyone to respect her privacy and avoid speculation as to what occurred and refrain from disclosing any misleading statements as to Mr. Porter. She asks that the press and all officials refrain from any judgment and speculation on this matter which will be rectified properly and with integrity. Thank you!”

And then he'll find a new victim.

I think she loves that boujee life and wants to be a basketball wife.

So she’ll probably blame herself for locking him out.

I never cease to be amazed by your capacity for compassion, empathy, and sensitivity in delicate matters.

This is a criminal not a civil case. You can't settle criminal case with a government prosecutor for money. Criminal plea deals can be struck, depending on the strength of the evidence and workload in the prosecutor's office, but I doubt the victim has much say in that process usually.

As to bail, New York has eliminated it for a whole array of offenses below the serious felony level. Even alleged murderers can get bail.

Isn't something similar suspected as to the reason the charges against Riquna Williams were dropped? The witness (her wife) stopped communicating with the prosecutors and they had to drop the case. This led some to think that there was some kind of a deal made between the two.

The report that he cracked her vertebrae is apparently erroneous—it's a congenital defect—and she is denying that he strangled her.

All domestic violence cases are messy - including the shame the recipient of the violence carries with them.
