WNBL playoffs start in just under a week.
Looks like more international viewers will be able to tune in.

The Cygnett Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) is thrilled to announce a new international broadcast distribution plan for the Finals. From 8 March, the Finals will be broadcast in more than 100 countries, giving basketball fans from around the world an opportunity to enjoy Australia’s elite women’s basketball competition.
As the 2022-23 WNBL season prepares to conclude one of the most competitive regular seasons to date, the international Finals coverage is an exciting opportunity to engage new audiences with the WNBL.
The partnerships with broadcasters ESPN, beIN Sport and Unbeaten will see the WNBL Finals available to watch in the United States, Canada, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America.
In Australia, all Finals games will be available to fans on ESPN, with select games available to stream on 9Now as well. The WNBL fixture is available to reference, here.
Head of the WNBL, Christy Collier-Hill said:
“The WNBL is excited to offer fans around the world the opportunity to watch the best women’s basketball competition in Australia.
“We have some incredibly talented players and teams and are thrilled to showcase them on an international stage. This is a significant milestone for our league, and we are excited to see the positive impact it will have on our players, fans and stakeholders.”
The WNBL Finals will feature the top four teams including Townsville Fire (1st), Southside Flyers (2nd) and Melbourne Boomers (3rd). The battle for the fourth position between the Perth Lynx (4th) and Bendigo Spirit (5th) will come down to the results of the final round of the regular season this week.
The Finals format includes two best-of-three semi-finals’ series between 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd. The winners will advance to another best-of-three grand final series.
The Finals action commences on Wednesday 8 March, when fans around the world can tune in to see which team will be crowned WNBL Champions. |

All of the regular season games(after the first round) have been on the FIBA You Tube channel, for International fans. I hope thats what they continue to do. I can get the games on 9 Now and a VPN, but the games on ESPN/AU I couldnt get, in the begining of the year.
Is the format 2 games at Top seeds, then game 3 at lower seed?
Thanks |
Format is Home-Away-Home for the higher seeded team
(That way both teams are guaranteed a home game, which means I get to see the Lynx at least one more time in person)

If anyone happens to find a way to buy tickets for EuroBasket Women, please do let me know. I'm hoping they're just not on sale yet, because if they are I certainly can't find where. |

Thanks man, I hadn't managed to even discover that page, so that is much appreciated. I don't anticipate too much trouble getting tickets - and there's always the chance that FIBA are willing to consider me press this time around - but you never know. |
