Good game, but I've never seen a team surgically destroy a Coach Abe defense any better than the Pirates did today, shooting 59% on 23 assists and 30 fast break points to UGA's 6, even though the Pirates were significantly out-rebounded.
PG Lauren Park-Lane was again brilliant for SHU, shooting 8-13, 5-9, 2-3, with 9 assists, 2 steals and 5 TO's.
It's so, so, so much more valuable for a team to have a PG who is a three-point threat, and hence can spread the defense by her mere presence on the floor, allowing her to drive and shoot/kick as the defense must come out beyond the arc to defend her. |

Concur - we've got to make adjustments to the zone defense we've been using. They got too many in the paint while we were guarding against the three...

ST. THOMAS, VIRGIN ISLANDS — Four players scored in double figures, but it was not enough as the Georgia women's basketball team fell to Seton Hall, 86-80, Saturday in the final game of the Paradise Jam.
Georgia is still the winner of the Paradise Jam based on the point differential in the games. Diamond Battles was named Tournament MVP, while Brittney Smith placed on the All-Tournament team.
Battles led Georgia with 22 points on Saturday, while Smith added 18 points, reaching the 1,000 point mark for her career.
Seton Hall came out on fire, hitting 56 percent from the floor and knocking in five 3-pointers in the first half. Georgia was able to build a 36-30, lead, but Seton Hall ended the half on a 13-4 run to take a 43-40 advantage into the locker room.
The Pirates were led in scoring by Lauren Park-Lane's 12 points, while Battles led Georgia with 16 first half points.
Brittney Smith scored Georgia's first six points of the second half as the Lady Bulldogs built a 10-point lead late in the third quarter. Seton Hall bounced back, outscoring Georgia 25-15 in the fourth to hand Georgia its first loss of the year.
