Sky playing like they are SUPPOSED to win this game. They are making it harder than it needs to be against this young Fever team. IND out-worked CHI in the 2nd qtr thus far. Really pushing the ball, and being aggressive.

49-42 Indiana at the half.
The Sky played like trash in that 2nd quarter.
Has Copper been reading her press clippings, or is she just tired from overseas. She's forcing the action, instead of looking for open teammates.
Also, they've got to find way to Allie some open shots from the arc.

Chicago was definitely out hustled in the 1st half and that is the danger when playing these young, hungry teams. It also looks like the Kah and the Vanderquigs really haven't settled in and worked themselves into a rhythm just yet. Of course there have been a lot of moving pieces.
Let's go Sky! Pull out the smelling salts and make some solid adjustments at the half!

It's frustrating that we continue to struggle against this team! We let them in after we had a decent start. No more butterfingers in the second half!

Parker needs to take a seat for a couple minutes... Reset. Because she's sloppy right now, and it's hurting.

From the ring ceremony I learned that the woman who has been energetically handing out towels, water bottles and clipboards for many years in Chicago is: Vice President of Basketball Operations, Strength and Conditioning – Ann Crosby.

Yep Indy has a nice, physical squad and players who definitely are not scared. Hopefully, they'll stay encouraged and keep building.
Chicago made it harder on themselves and it was ugly but I'm glad they got the W!
Yep, Ann Crosby is definitely an unsung hero for Chicago! They seem to truly love and appreciate her!

Those Indy rookies were giving us FITS! And then we played like trash... We were lucky to win that trainwreck.
Just learned that our chairman and minority owner, Margaret Stender, has been sitting a few rows in front of me for years! After the ring ceremony, suddenly this woman who looked familiar comes up in my section and starts letting us take pictures of the ring - which is beautiful! It seemed random that she chose our section, which is near midcourt several rows above courtside. When she sat down a few rows down from me, I asked my STH seatmate if she had always been sitting there, and she said yes. I never knew who she was!
And yeah, Ann Crosby is the one who put the regimen together for Candace last year so she had more staying power (and worked with Diamond through her intensive rehab). Maybe she needs to find the 2022 version for Parker.
It was surprising that, when Candace brought out the kids, Airr didn't have on headphones since it was loud in there!

The fever rookies look very good. I was pleased by the Fever play even in the loss.

As promising as the rookies have been, I feel like a shout out is also owed to Kelsey Mitchell. It's easy to write her off as a volume shooter on a bad team, but without her they wouldn't be nearly as competitive as they have been this year so far.

I respectfully disagree. As awesome as she is when her shot is on, she's shot Indy OUT of as many games as she's shot them IN. And her defense always allows points. Granted, there are only a handful of players her size who aren't a liability on defense. But it still must be noted

You're certainly welcome to your opinion of her! I can't argue much about her defense except to say it's not like they have better options (considering the net value on both offense and defense) sitting on the bench who should be getting more minutes at the 2.
What I will say is this: criticizing a team's go-to scorer for having a rough night is low hanging fruit. It's going to happen for every volume shooter, many times per season. But the reality is, she's one of the few on the roster that can create a decent shot for herself at the end of a possession after the regular offense has failed to generate a decent look for someone else earlier in the shot clock. Someone has to shoot the ball at the end of the possession. And whether she attempts a field goal or not, simply having Mitchell on the floor will attract defensive attention that opens things up for other players. Without her this team is winless and not nearly as competitive as they have been in some of their close losses.
