Gamecocks clinging to a slim 26-24 lead at the half. The team not named Aliyah Boston has struggled to generate any offense. Boston is actually well on her way to a career night, with 15 pts on 6-11 shooting, and 10 rebounds for a double-double in only 14 minutes of play. But the rest of the team is a combined 4-24 from the field - Zia Cooke is having another frigid shooting night, at 0-9 from the field, and 0-5 from behind the arc. And yet the Gamecocks still hold the lead, so that is the good side. Hopefully the team comes out in a better offensive frame of mind for the 2nd half......

Cooke and Henderson are a combined 2-13 (0-6). They are lucky they don't play for UConn whose fans would already have the tar and feathers ready. Wink

The CT fans seem to have mellowed a bit in recent times: they haven't used any tar and feathers once for their own team....

Their guards shoot better.

What guards?? And Henderson and Cooke are a combined 3-4 from behind the 3-pt arc in the 2nd half. A 3-pointer is a shot that's completed from behind the 3-pt. arc on the floor, and awards an extra point from the typical 2-pt field goal. Thought you wouldn't know that...... Rolling Eyes

Gamecocks come out for the 3rd period much better offensively, and out-score the Aggies 21-10 to extend their lead to 47-34 through three quarters. The Gamecocks shot 7-15 (46.7%) from the field and 3-6 (50.0%) from behind the arc.....
