An ESPN 30 for 30 documentary on Maya Moore and her activism, entitled "Breakaway," will run on Tuesday night July 13th at 9:00 p.m. EST. Looks like it'll run 90 minutes.

I watched part of it. Quite sweet. Amazing story. She doesn't look like she is inclined to play basketball anytime soon...and she's obviously put on quite a bit of weight. Of course I have no doubt she could get back into shape if she wanted to, but the longer she's out, the harder it would be.

Truly she heard and was led by the Spirit of God. Basketball was a foundation for her true purpose. The Lord equipped her and prepared her for such as time as this. Jonathan held on to his Faith and the Lord showed up and showed out!!!!! God Bless them Both.

I cried through the whole thing-but I really lost it when I found out Uncle Hugh died. What a beautiful man he was. Maya is a very special being and while I would love to see her lace 'em up again, so we can give her the send off she deserves, I certainly don't think she will.

I don't think she'll play again, but we may see her in some capacity. I doubt she made enough money in her short career for her and her husband to just be retired for 50 years, to say nothing of the possibility of kids.

She's 32, likely well past her prime if she were to try to play again. That's also old enough that getting back in shape - let along game shape - would be notably harder.

Maybe she'll fulfill her MJ prophecy and come back for a retirement tour season.

She could also just work in the church and probably make good money there.

I was bummed re Uncle Hugh, but at least he saw Irons walk free.

MM is such a wonderful person indeed.

PS- Poor Reggie! Left behind... Very Happy

(I gotta send him a Weber kettle. He shouldn't be using a pellet grill. Smh.)

I missed it but I’ll watch on ESPN+ hopefully over the weekend. Maya Moore sounds like a very unique human being. Sounds like there’s numerous storylines. Leaving basketball at the pinnacle of her success, her equivalent degree of success in helping to free her now husband, their bond forming as a result. I’m looking forward to watching it.

Trying to think of a parallel elsewhere in past sports. Can’t really think of any. I’m not good at remembering that sort of thing though. Regardless of parallels it’s a one-in-a-million story. They both sound very happy.
