I was working on adding statistics to a Wikipedia article about Baiba Eglite:

I noted she did not play her freshman year, interschool biography says she did not play due to NCAA transfer rules:

I thought I was reasonably familiar with transfer rules which do not require sitting out for two or from a different division or to or from non-NCAA school such as a junior college. I thought the only requirement for sitting out applied when it was from one division one school to another Division I school (obviously with the recent exception). Does anyone know any reason why she was not able to play as a freshman?

There may be some academic rules where you have to sit out if you are not a full qualifier?

That sounds plausible. Plus, I have transfers on the mind, and thought the explanation referred to transfer rules, but I now see it does not.

Is anyone familiar with Michaela Kelly's history?

According to the school website:

I think of transfer rules is applying to situations where a player transfers one college to another. If she was academically ineligible, that might be why she didn't play as a freshman but I would not have called that a transfer rule although arguably one could talk about transferring from high school to college.

or
Did not play per NCAA transfer rules

I believe she started classes at DePaul and then transferred and in 16-17 waivers weren't as easy maybe, so since she attended DePaul either in summer or early fall and then transferred to Central Michigan, she had to sit out due to transfer.
