The post game presser on Thursday didn’t sound too positive. Walt and Sami talked about execution and connectivity. Execution or not, if one team’s players can beat the first defender and you have passers like Slooty and Parker, they’re gonna make you pay.

With Sab hobbled, the only player the Libs have who does that consistently is Laney. And teams are geared to stop her. I wonder how many teams execute their defensive philosophy perfectly all the time. Maybe the Libs are breaking down more than they should be. But having players that break down defenses and create is important. Especially when you have long players like DD, Copper and CP3 to contest shots.

Tonight is another 50-50 game. Hopefully they don’t have 25 turnovers against another pressure defense team. It’s important to get out of Atlanta with a split.

CWill has been awfully quiet. Keep expecting that to change.

NY offense is pretty much standing around until somebody drives and either shoots or dishes.

Stokes has actually had a decent showing for the first time in a long time.

Elizabeth Williams often makes opposing post players look good

Their ball movement has been much better. Maybe too unselfish at times. They’re defending Williams better than in the last game. Trailing every screen and having a post player in position to contest.

Sure didn't look like a flagrant foul.

Sometimes Jones does something good. It seems random. But the rest of the time, I cringe everytime she's in the game. I think she was personally responsible for a 6-0 Atlanta run after she came in...

I am very impressed with the Liberty's ability to play their best in the games they have a chance of winning, 6-1 in games decided by less than 10 points.

Stricklen appears to have put on more weight every time I see her. She's not quite to the D.Adams extent...yet, but seems to be on her way.

I guess Peterson didn't feel like using a timeout to stop the bleeding.

Carter and C.Will should have been going to the basket every time down. NY couldn't stop them without fouling.

Thankfully Leilani's play in the last week has made that choice look *slightly* less silly.

But yeah. It sucks. Evil or Very Mad

The commentators said early in the game that Sami was on the team....maybe as an alternate? Or were they completely wrong Confused .

Yeah, I don't know where they got that from.
Given that our camp & practice games are in the US it is entirely possible that she could be involved in those, and would actually be smart to do so given what happened at the last World Cup (backcourt players injured right before the tournament started), but Sami is definitely not in the official team.

Impressive breakdown of the defense by NY tonight as well as the passing. Sabrina was really good. Laney and Sami were not only scoring at will but distributing the ball. Totally within the offensive flow, which makes their scoring that much more impressive. Nothing was forced and there was major unselfishness involved. Really fun to watch.

And NY seriously got a bunch of calls tonight. Including some questionable ones. Nice to have that go our way for a change. Makes it much harder to play defense if you get called for a foul anytime you get close to an offensive player.

^ Yeah, Sabrina looked a lot better this game.
It's so important that everyone pitches in. Laney can do a lot on her own, but you don't tend to win games that way.

Post-game boxscore adjustment:
30 points, 6 boards, 5 assists, 3 steals.
Weird to see a points total changed.

I wonder if they forgot to include that basket after the steal, the one that happened so fast it wasn't actually on the feed.

Yep. That’s what happened. The score stayed at 90. They included it after the game.
