I hate to be mean, but I've seen enough Dupree.

As of tonight, the Fever's lottery pick from this last year and this year have combined for a total of 49 points.

Not mean at all. What else does she do if her downright obsolete midrange jumper isn't falling? Nothing, especially judging by the box score.

KLS was +15 in 22 minutes. Given that +/- isn't necessarily accurate, did she actually play that well?

Yes, ball moves and spacing is better when she is in game, would have had a lot more assists but it seems Fever just want to beat the crap out of Stewie, because none of them can guard her.

There's not much reason to think otherwise.

As a fan who watches all the games, my impression of her is positive. She's usually on the floor with the starters and complements them well. She selects her shots well and hits them at a good rate, is a good passer, doesn't commit silly turnovers, has the length and energy to be a good defender in Seattle's scheme.

It's been fun to watch her and Talbot integrate into the team.

I think she's shooting from a bit further out than 'normal' and it seems she never makes a move to get closer like she used to. Also, playing with the second team and being about the fourth option on the second team, means she doesn't see the ball very much and often not in the position or timing she's used to. Not making excuses because she really does look like she's a step slower and should retire and she's still hopeless on the other end.

Here is a play they worked for KLS last night.

Inbounds from KLS to Stewie, who passes to Bird, who passes to Samuelson for the post up.
She had a 6" height difference over Mitchell, who was guarding her. I think the Storm should have tried it more than once.

I would rather see her doing this stuff more than just 3 pointers.

Samuelson is getting better, starting to gel more after the disruption of the 3x3 tournament. Some of the 3s are going down now.

Talbot has quickly become one of my favorite players on the roster. I love her hustle and efficiency (though the towering Indiana defense didn't do her any favors that last game). Just like I used to crow about Sami, she needs MORE MINUTES. Start Samuelson if you have to, but be quick to sub in Talbot. Give Talbot Dupree's minutes too. Basically, more Talbot! During the 3x3 she was killing it out there and her reduction in minutes since has been a bummer.

Talbot has a tendency to turn the ball over, she also travels, splitting her feet every time she tries to dribble, been lucky that refs haven’t called her every time for it and not as good under pressure, good off the bench for solid minutes. Not sure what to say about Dupree, she doesn’t fit in with the Storm. Does Canada get traded?

She's not the only one who does this. I notice that some get called for it much more than others. In general, I think if you're a known star, it doesn't get called as much, but it doesn't seem too consistent. I actually hate the call that is too often about the ball not quite hitting the floor before the foot moves. To me that's just petty.

Even with hindsight, it’s going to be tough to choose who would have been better for Indiana this year.

Going through the rookies.
1. Collier: Started out with a double double in her first game, but Johnson seems to be concerned about being fair to the “vets”.
2. Kuier: Played light minutes in first couple games. Has disappeared since.
3. McDonald: Looks like she might have potential, but is buried behind a deep guard rotation even with Carter hurt. And because Reeve paid a high price to cut her loose, of course Sims is doing great. Who would have predicted that?
4. Gondrezick: Shows flashes. They say they’re developing her as a PG, but they’re already pretty deep in the position with DRob and LAllen, and Allemand on the back burner. Maybe at some point when they’ve given up on the season they’ll let her start?
5 Dungee: Same story as all the guards in the draft. Back of the rotation. Getting no playing time.
6. Onyenwere: Has stayed healthy and is getting the opportunity to play, so she’s looking alright. Seemed to hit a bit of a wall with Ionescu out.
7. Walker: ACL injury
8. Heel: Cut
9. Davis: Came in hurt. Acting as a paid deferral pick. Woo hoo! She’s a dime store Rhyne Howard, so Reeve better hope she’s worth it.
10. Watts: Traded and then cut after a few games.
11. AWilson: Injured
12. Rupert: Deferral (temporary?)

13. Evans: Used sparsely in DAL, traded to CHI.
14. Slocum: Has been used sparsely but Laimbeer seems to like her and he’s not easy to please.
15. Carrera: Deferral
16. Mack: Cut & now replacement specialist.
17. Richards: Used sparsely in the land of opportunity.
18. KWilliams: (See the plight of all the guards who manage to survive cuts)
19. Thompson: Cut
20. Carrington: Started out pretty good but is inconsistent.
21. Kelly: Cut
22. Guirantes: The seas had to part to get her on the roster, but I’m not really seeing anything special there.

That’s about it. I guess you could say in hindsight that Onyenwere was the best and obvious choice for Indiana, but is that what you were saying before the draft?

Thanks for the list ... I don't think you can blame anyone for a "bad" pick in this draft.
