| Idk if I can do this one y'all. If we don't win, they might as well trade BG and SDS, tell DT to retire and start over. You had a 20 year run. If you can't win with BG and SD both scoring 25+ points, then what else can you do?

Yeah. I don't know if I can do it either. It just doesn't make any sense. With the wins by Chicago, Minnesota and Washington yesterday, Phoenix dropped to 11th in the standings. It's so close that every game counts and this team seems to lack fire or urgency.

There are basically 8 teams within 1 game of each other. Phoenix was at the top end of that 1 game and is now on the bottom. Those teams are just flip flopping over each other. Of those teams, Chicago is the one on the rise, after the return of Candace Parker. If the Mystics can maintain staying close to .500 before the Olympic break, I expect them to make a late season climb. The other six teams better hope for some kind of reset because right now, not one of them has a bat's chance in hell of getting past the second round of the playoffs. There's so many average teams, some of them will have to advance from the first round.

The pre-game "Health Update" only listed Hartley & Taurasi, so hopefully BG is fine.

I missed the previous LA game, so I can do this one.
I can accept losing a game. Shit happens. Especially when you're missing 2 of your 4 stars.
But we really should beat LA. Lose to them twice in a row and I think that is cause for alarm bells. So I am more interested in this one than I normally would be for a battle between 2 very mediocre and uninspiring lineups.

| As an option, did you ever give thought that the main problem might lie with your three stars? There's more to team chemistry than individual point scoring and on the court game appearances.

If they ever got all three on the floor at the same time it would probably help. Griner checked out midway through last season and checked out mentally even earlier. Taurasi missed some of the games Griner was there for last year and almost all of this season.

Firstly, I don't see three stars in Mercury uniforms. But secondly - yes, of course. Basketball is a team game and everyone needs to play their role.

| Apologies if this has already been answered, but, how does the LA Convention Center allow the Staples Center logo to be on their court? Are they affiliated or something? Feels like false advertising to see it since we know the Sparks aren't playing at the actual Staples Center until August.

Not sure about absolute ownership of each piece, but I believe AEG manage the whole complex, including both Staples and the Convention Center. Just in general there doesn't seem to be a huge amount of attention paid to what's painted on the WNBA floors. A lot of teams still have old WNBA logos on there. |
