Why did Indiana pass up Onyenwere again?

I think both Indy and Atl might come to regret passing on her

her being a possible tweener and having questionable range was the issue

but in their defense many of the mocks I saw has her late first round early second round

I give credit to NY and Hopkins as it seems that is who they wanted from the start when they dropped down to 6.

Even after the draft there was a lot of skepticism about the pick but two good showings and proving that she wasn't a tweener but rather could legitimately play at the 2, 3 or 4 has really raised her stock

I liked Onyenwere and was fully prepared to take her and Kuier 1-2 if I'd had Dallas in the mock draft podcast we did at HHS, but let's not get too carried away. It's two games, against the worst team in the league. Shoni Schimmel was gonna need to build an extension for all her awards after her first two games...

Yeah and she plays for NY we can turn on someone just as fast after a few bad game as love them after a few good ones

But the thing that really impressed me was how much she seemed to belong. She may have been the steadiest most poised player on the floor for NY. Laney and Ionescu were great but they pushed a lot and seemed like a TO waiting to happen, while Onyenwere really seemed to be playing within herself and the flow of the game.

so what have we got 200 total minutes

30 Ionescu
30 Howard
30 Laney
20 Onyenwere
20 Stokes
20 Whitcomb
20 Jones
15 Richards
15 Allen

We can figure out how to work in Clarendon later as something seems off ATM
If when Allen steps up she can eat into someone else's minutes at that time
Odom ends up getting cut along with Gray When Stokes and Howard return

Thank you, J-Spoon. This is the first time I've ever seen anyone on this board offer a projected/recommended minutes' breakdown for any team. If others have done it, it surely hasn't been often. And as a Liberty fan I view this breakdown as quite reasonable.

Catch decided to drink one of her special blends of tea before draft day.

The P12 is just way too far out there to bother scouting

Because Catchings is the worst GM in the league. It's not particularly close.

In fairness to Catchings on that particular one, I saw very few mocks with Onyenwere in the lottery. Gondrezick was a surprise, but passing on Onyenwere wasn't.

Fair.

I was more thinking of the actually pick that was made.
