That’s a very good get for North Dakota. I watched Adams in high school and AAU, and I thought she had a lot of talent. I don’t think she was used well, at least compared to her high school abilities.

I did enjoy watching her as a shooter at St. John's, but there were rumors about attitude issues with both her and her family.

The Massillon, Ohio native is the third player to transfer from the Ducks this offseason, joining fellow guards Taylor Chavez and Jaz Shelley, who left for Arizona and Nebraska, respectively, earlier this month.

Mikesell started out at Maryland. Her being from Ohio, I wonder is she'll come back to the Midwest.

She’s very good friends with Naz Hillmon, and there’s room for one player at Michigan. Wink

I know she played quite a bit, but she was kind of the invisible player on the team this year IMO.

Forgive me if this is a dupicate. I didn't see it earlier this week. St. John's grad transfer Qadashah Hoppie to Texas A&M.

Queenie, you may now either begin cussing or buy an Aggies jersey. Your call.

She will have stiff competition for playing time at Duke! We are - by far - the big winners is this unique pandemic transfer year.

Kara Lawson did not get the benefit of recruiting the top players in the 2021 class, as Joanne P. McCallie resigned in July 2020.

But her staff massively upgraded the roster with transfers! Note that Jade Williams is returning for a fifth season and is the only roster holdover on the lists below from the McCallie era.

And while there is still the matter of getting everyone to play to their respective potential, to make improvements in being able to impact a game when the ball is not in the player's hands, and getting the sum to play better than the individual parts, there can be no doubt that Kara Lawson's second season will have a MASSIVE talent upgrade on the roster.

McDonald’s All-Americans (2021-22 Duke Roster)
    Jade Williams (2017)
    Elizabeth Balogun (2018)
    Nyah Green (2019)
    Jordyn Oliver (2019)
    Celeste Taylor (2019)

Jordan Brand All-American (2021-22 Duke Roster)
    Lexi Gordon (2017)
    Jade Williams (2017)
    Elizabeth Balogun (2018)
    Nyah Green (2019)
    Jordyn Oliver (2019)
    Celeste Taylor (2019)

USA Today High School All-Americans (2021-22 Duke Roster)
Elizabeth Balogun (2017-18 First Team All-American)
Jordyn Oliver (2018-19 Second Team All-American

My initial reaction was "huh, now I have an SEC team" but then Tennessee made their coaching move and now I *definitely* have an SEC team (although if we can time our Knoxville trip to A&M's visit, that would be the best of both worlds and I will confuse everyone by showing up in St. John's gear... probably leave the jersey at home, though)

The two best posts in the portal this offseason have each transferred to one of the top two teams -- Juhasz to UConn and Cardoso to South Carolina. Is this going to be the new normal?

I hope it's a good fit for both. If it works, look out.

Ruh-Rohh....doth this, mayhaps, herald an opening of floodgates in Bear Land?

I can't imagine how tough it is for these kids who bought into Baylor/Kim, put in the sweat equity, finished a tremendous season and now, she's gone.

I am guessing the door has been opened. Some more cautious souls are probably waiting to see who gets hired. Others may wait out the post-Covid year and then jump ship.

The 'Taylor Combination' as I liked to call them from Marquette is staying together - Camryn Taylor has announced she's transferring to Virginia (Taylor Valladay had already announced she's also leaving Marquette for Virginia):

Good for both of them. Too, Van Dyke can try out Langley's system this coming year, and if she doesn't like it, she can simply grad-transfer to another school since she'll still have the one year of extra eligibility.

I have a question. With the NCAA-mandated recruiting shutdown this week, does that only apply to high school recruits? I’m just thinking with almost 500 women with their destination school still undeclared in the transfer portal as of right now, that would be really hard for coaches to not be able to talk to any of them this week.

I never heard about a shutdown....is that standard, or something new? Shocked

I saw a few places on Twitter today, and just now I just saw that Mississippi State WBB had tweeted it. It is on the recruiting calendar for this year.

Shocked I have genuinely no idea how she was able to expedite her admission to get into one of our grad programs. That's why it's so hard for UW to get grad-transfers in general, because transfers would had to have gotten accepted into a grad program in advance before being able to join a team (and our grad programs are generally considered not easy to get into as a whole). But she found a way, and here she is. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

She's only gonna be around a year as a stopgap player of sorts, but she's really going to help this first year of the Tina Langley era with being a veteran presence who knows the system & can help others learn it as well – and hopefully help get us some much needed wins in the process.

I would LOVE to see Langley get another Rice player on board, preferably a perimeter player with some experience.
