A new television series on Disney+ from producer David E Kelley and starring John Stamos as a disgraced NCAA men’s basketball coach who gets fired and accepts a job as a girl’s high school basketball team.

Looking kinda like a Bad News Bears for women’s basketball. The promo doesn’t look too bad. I don’t want to be tempted into buying Disney+.

Series premieres April 16, a day after the WNBA draft.

I have Disney+ but I'll be damned if I'll watch John Stamos in ANYTHING.

I don't have Disney+ or any streaming service.

But the premise of this sounds almost like the plot of an otherwise forgettable movie from 2005 called Rebound, which starred Martin Lawrence as a once-famous college coach who is now forced to coach a junior varsity team at his old high school alma mater.

It was a middle school I believe.

But you aren't far off. Though I'm hopeful that Big Shot will be more of a straight up attempt at light drama than Rebound was a shamelessly pandering comedy. Not that I didn't find myself chuckling at it at times.
