The historic program defining wins from Oregon State and Washington and great Pac 12 showing this tournament had me thinking. Where the hell is the Sean Hannity of Pac 12 basketball Mary Murphy?
Is she beside herself right now with Pac 12 Pride?
Has she spontaneously combusted herself with excitement?
Who would she kill marry or bang between Tara Vandeveer, Mike Neighbors, and Scott Rueck?
I need to know. This is the moment Mary has dreamt about...shilled about...for years!
Here's to you Mother Mary! Three cheers for you and the Pac 12. This is your time. This is your moment.

I dunno. This year she got some time shilling for the B1G as well. Maybe spreading her favors has diluted the effect.
But seriously, I'm sure we'll pay for the P12's success all throughout next season.

I don't know if it was Mary Murphy, but I remember one of the Pac-12 female announcers saying with pride that the Pac-12 was the number one conference in RPI.

Can't speak for Mary Murphy, but as a Pac-12 Womens Basketball fan, this is a pretty nice feeling. After a full season of hearing that the Pac-12 was overrated, that the #1 RPI ranking was a mirage, that the conference had gamed the RPI and *also* somehow manipulated the Sagarin and the Massey rankings, after the audible snickers when the Selection Committee included 3 Pac-12 teams in its periodic Top-10 snapshot, after hearing "Gosh, where would Tennessee finish if it were in the Pac-12?", it feels pretty great to see 4 Pac-12 teams in the Sweet 16 (out of 5 tourney berths), 3 in the Elite Eight and 2 in the Final Four.

yep. we've heard all year about how over-rated out P12 teams are, so it is indeed sweet to have two here in the final. Part of the problem this year was a lack of OOC games for anybody, so every conference was able to think theirs was the best. It made for a nice rivalry... And I assume next year we will hear the same remarks anyway.

PAC-12 only had 3 teams in the Sweet 16, not 4. It’s a question of whether you evaluate a conference by the strength of the top teams or its depth.

So... five Pac-12 teams have gone to their first Final Four the past ten years (California in 2013, both Oregon State & Washington in 2016, Oregon in 2019, Arizona in 2021), with four of those of course having come within the past five years. UCLA here in the NCAA Tournament era (the Bruins were AIAW champions back in '78) made their first Elite Eight in 2018, and Washington State this season made their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 30 years.
Onwards and upwards for this conference.
