This sucks. Some players just have bad luck with injuries.

Louisville sprung that full court pressure on them right after the injury. Oregon absolutely asleep. Very effective strategy, but...damn...that was cold.

No they never use that. Totally something Beth or Debbie made up.

Truly sad for Sabally. Hopefully it's not too serious.

Evans doing a beautiful job. But it's hard to listen to Debbie slobbering over her.

They've really fallen apart since Sabally went out.

Beth Mowins’ voice continues to just grate on my ears something fierce.

Yep and I feel the same way about Tiffany Greene.

Well, THIS one is over....was a while ago.

I dunno. Kelly was plum out-coached. I can't believe how their weak zone allowed so many points inside the key on mid-range shots, or how often Boley/Mikesell/Prince just tried to plow in. This pitiful offensive effort (30% 2s/11% 3s) is reflective of minimal ball-handling personnel.

Ob-lah-dee. Life goes on. Stanford would/will pick either of 'em apart.

Nyara Sabally in tears towards the end of this game. Is it because:

A) She simply really wanted to be out there winning this game?
B) She's still in pain from her injury?
C) This was in fact her last collegiate game and she will be graduating/going pro?
D) Any combination of answers that includes C

“for the Fighting Ducks”. Or was that supposed to be “for the fighting Ducks”? Never hear “Fighting” used as part of their nickname.

Well it is on the front of their uniforms. That’s probably where they got it from.

I mean, the official website does say "Home of the Fighting Ducks" at the bottom, so...

It's amazing that such a BIG voice comes from such a small body. I remember seeing her in person for the first time at a bar in Milwaukee during that 2002 Regional. She was about 5'5 and 100#s. Cracked me up. Very Happy

Debbie loves two players, Alliyah Boston and Dana Evans. She outwardly becomes a fan when she calls either teams games and I don't think she should be allowed on their broadcasts. I respect her relentless efforts to "grow the game," but her fandom keeps her from being professional. She is great at breaking the game down and I would love for her to do more men's games because there isn't the emotional attachment to it.

Laughing Laughing got me. But I have to say I've lived in Oregon most of my life and never ever have I heard them referred to that way. I'm guessing it's some new PR person's personal 'touch'.

I grew up in Eugene. I first remember hearing/seeing “Fighting Ducks” in association with the football team back in the mid-seventies when winning seasons were rare and they were trying anything to “toughen up” the image of the program. I think the Nike image-mavens resurrected it more recently, applying it to all M & W sports.
