I picked an upset on this one. Northwestern's defense can really fluster opponents the first time they see it. And if they makes some shots, too...watch out, folks, you read it here first Cool

I predict an upset on this one too...the Ville has let too many inferior opponents hang around for too long..get a decent opponent and it spells trouble.

The beginning of this game reminds me of the beginning of the infamous 2013 Louisville-Baylor matchup... but it's Northwestern punching Louisville in the mouth here to start things off. Shocked 25-10 Northwestern after one!!

OKAY, Northwestern!! They have 7 blocks and have only given up 10 points.

Now, of course, can you keep it up?

Cochran for Louisville really runs the floor hard. Love to see that (also love the Northwestern defensive effort and intensity).

Rolling Eyes We knew the answer was no, but disappointing for it to be no so quickly. Their shot selection has been atrocious this quarter.

I had the same thought. When NW was 4-4 from 3 in the 1st qtr, I wonder if Walz had a sense of karma.

Lou has been overrated all year, imo. They may yet win this one, but they are struggling. They just look terrible. I know credit goes to NW, but Lou has suffered a ton of self-inflicted damage.

Louisville bigs cannot make layups and other shots quite close to the rim.

That replay showed a clear double dribble on Evans layup after the turnover.

The B1G maybe have been underrated. Don’t know what the fuck happened to Rutgers though.

B1G was def underrated, but among B1G, I think Rutgers was a touch overrated. (I've ranted about that elsewhere on this board lol.) I guess it would be more accurate to say they were "untested" due to their month of Covid-cancellations. They didn't have to play Maryland, Indiana, or Michigan in 2021, and their best win rankings-wise was against an Ohio State team playing without its starting PG. In fact, this win over OSU was Rutgers' only win against a ranked team (unless you count their win against Northwestern, who might have been ranked at the time...can't remember).

That being said, Rutgers lead BYU pretty much all game but absolutely crumbled in the 4th quarter.

Louisville's best offense has been Pulliam shooting Laughing

What a cave by Northwestern since the 1Q. I'd expect L'ville's momentum to carry on to a win in the 4Q unless NW makes some dramatic offensive change.

I really hope she turns it on in these last minutes! She can be so deadly, but it comes and goes in streaks.

It took Northwestern a little less than 9 minutes to score their first 25 points. It then took them about 27 minutes to score their next 25... boy, that 1st quarter was a long time ago.

Louisville's a tougher matchup for Oregon anyway. Twisted Evil

This. 25 points in the 1Q, 25 points in the next three quarters combined (minus the layup just made). Disappointing to watch.

Well, it started out to be an upset...and then it turned into a mess on both sides. Ugly game. Would have been ugly no matter who won.

Does anyone else see a poor mans Kayla McBride with Pulliam? She’s not a bad player but not a great one either.

Pulliam was terrible in this game, so you may have a point.
