They’re previewing Rhyne Howard & this matchup, and both broadcasters start by pronouncing her name as “Ryan”, with Carolyn Peck incorrectly reading the motivational words on Howard’s shoe as “Just a Starter” instead of “Just a Scorer”. Rolling Eyes 🤮

Forgive me, but how is her name pronounced? I've always heard the talking heads say "Ryan."

(Side note: the media has been too busy hyping the potential Clark/Bueckers match-up to point out a Clark/Howard match-up is just as compelling.)

I've heard it both as a two-syllable Ryan and a one-syllable Rhyne (like the river). As per the pronunciation guide on Kentucky's roster, it's Ryan.

Shocked I am mistaken... and also malfunctioning (again) as to how the spelling of that name has two syllables. But thank you!

Maybe it's more of a closed vowel "Rhy-inn" versus a drawn out "Rhy-uhhhn." If that makes sense...

Kentucky really did not look that good. I was slightly appalled. Absent Howard, they didn't play all that well, IMNSHO. Either that, or Idaho State is a lot better than they were seeded. That may be a program on the way up, one of those obscure little places that suddenly bursts out.
