This is a fun game - DePaul started out on fire and had a 10 point lead at the end of the first quarter. Villanova stormed back in the 2nd quarter and leads 37-36 at the half.

Villanova prevails in overtime 78-72.

At this point I don't think DePaul gets into the NCAA Tournament.

Villanova now gets to be blown out by UCONN in the semi's tomorrow Smile.

Villanova was really unraveling in the 4th quarter but they regained enough composure in OT.

Overall not a good week for the "upper crust" of the mid-major teams---losses by South Florida, SDSU, Depaul.... I'm taking SDSU's loss with a grain of salt though in light of their injuries Sad

That was kinda bad. DePaul just didn't look like itself. Or maybe that is itself this year. This entire year needs an asterisk.

At this rate, the Big East might be down to two teams in the tournament.

It's really for the best there wasn't a SHU-Creighton game thread, or at least there wasn't much action in it if there was. I would probably have been testing the profanity filters at how the fourth quarter played out.

I didn’t see a thread for it. I thought of you while watching that game last night - sorry.

And yeah I think it should only be UCONN and Marquette from the BE in the NCAA Tournament. But Charlie Creme still has DePaul making it and they may have a shot still - we will see in 8 days I guess...
