But hey, if the refs aren’t gonna call it tight, the Wildcats can just keep on doing it. From what I see, Arizona’s putting on a masterful showing defensively.

Offensively, I’m that much more intrigued to see what they’ll look like next year without McDonald. I get that the team’s identity is centered around the defensive end, but imo Barnes has got some growing to do as an offensive coach. Too often is McDonald just allowed to shoot semi- or fully-contested shots.

As for McDonald as a professional, I really hope she won’t be given this kind of green light by whichever team/coach drafts her – she needs more structure, and a much more defined role to start out her career with imo.

Baptiste with the best game I've ever seen from her.

If Baptiste, Aari and Thomas are all gone next year, this will be a substantially different team. Their defense will also not be as spectacular since those three make up much of it. SO if they're not able to get all those steals and subsequent layups, yeah, they will need to institute some type of offense other than hand it to Aari and see what happens. Reese is back but I'm not convinced she's all that great on her own. I think all the attention that goes to Aari helps her a lot. Pellington and Yeaney are athletic but pretty limited offensively. It'll be a different team.
