It was a big deal down here (because another streak it snapped was USA's men beating Australia all 66 times we have played), but in the scheme of things it was just a warm-up game so I was wondering how newsworthy it would be up there. It's not Australia's best lineup, but it's obviously also a LONG way from USA's best lineup.

Today in terms of starting on August 31 and it currently being August 31 in the USA, and in terms of the USA seeing its first action several hours from now.
Yesterday in terms of one full day's worth of games already having been decided.

They've still qualified for the Olympics, but I have to wonder if some bigger names will join the team for the Olympics now.

Time for another Redeem Team.
France were very good but the USA were their own worst enemies in the 4th quarter. You'd never have known it was a Popovich-coached team.

Semi finalists:
France
Spain
Argentina
Australia Shocked

I really didn't. I was aiming high for Tokyo, but this year with Broekhoff unavailable, Cooks getting injured, and then Simmons & Bolden pulling out, I wasn't even confident of reaching the quarter finals. This run has been amazing.
I think it probably ends vs Spain though. This old team is looking very banged-up now, and Spain have had an extra day of rest.

Man ... that hurt Sad Double OT. Those Spaniards again. Ughh!! Evil or Very Mad

Spain-Argentina for the gold
France-Australia for the bronze

If we don't get blown out I'll be amazed. Tonight was devastating.
