I’m still surprised that a team with Marina Mabrey, Jackie Young, and Sami Whitcomb can lose to Alanna Smith, Stephanie Talbot, and Kiana Williams.

Dont forget about Kylee Shook Laughing Every team needs some kind of balance between their frontcourt and backcourt though

I hope Shatori's play in Israel gets her a permanent place on an WNBA team this year. She is doing quite well overseas.

One game out of seven is not so great. The Italian sports court ruled that San Martino di Lupari should not have to forfeit and was granted a postponement. Now Campobasso is trying to pretend like they never wanted a forfeit. Bad news for any fans taunting San Martino di Lupari for handing them a free win.

There are questions about the second game, but nothing like the wild accusations being thrown out about the first game. There are a lot of them, but the big one is that Gernika reports that they were subjected to additional virus testing when they arrived at the game that they were not given prior warning for and their captain tested positive after testing negative shortly before that. The team has made her go through ongoing testing that has all come back negative as they try to assert that something fishy happened.

Doesn’t look like there’s a lot of WNBA caliber players in that league.

Each team appears to have at least one WNBA player or former WNBA player, and some have more than one, including Shatori's team. FWIW.

She’s played in the WNBA every year, so that’s not so shabby. Do the Mysics seem interested this year?

Hard to tell at this point. My sales rep did mention her in our conversation this week, if that means anything. She is the kind of player who provides scoring and defense and great for building team chemistry.

After not having any virus postponements, Israel decided to go wild on Monday with multiple teams having issues. The big problems were at two games while the other two seem to just be your garden variety postponements. Elitzur Ramla found out very late that they were missing players and their opponents wanted the game to proceed because they were more likely to win and the head honchos of the two teams nearly decided the result by hand-to-hand combat around the time it was officially postponed. Elitzur Tel Aviv was waiting for results for symptomatic players and Herzliya wanted their game to go ahead since it would be an easy win to avoid relegation. Their fellow bottom-feeders decided to make it a farce, committing shot clock violations when they had the ball and intentionally fouling people on defense until they no longer had enough player to play in the middle of the first quarter.

One of the games is missing and two have been postponed already.

Awhom, I’m very interested in Cubaj as a draft pick. Can you say what you know about her future national team entanglements?

They are free this summer unless she wants to play in the World University Games of something.

They look set to qualify for EuroBasket next year.

Italy has not qualified for the Olympics since 1996 and the World Cup since 1994 so odd years are the only worry right now.

Zandalasini is Italian and you see how often she shows up. I guess Covid was an excuse for a year or two.

Re: Spain

Canal Feb, now requires registration to watch the games from the Spanish Leagues, all levels. It is free to watch the games, I believe they are also giving live stats on the screen, too.
