usually you don't have access to a trust fund set up in your name until 25 or 26 because younger than that is not seen as mature enough to handle large amounts of money

BUT we are now suggesting 10-12 year olds are mature and knowledgeable enough to request drugs to inhibit their natural maturation and which will have long lasting and irreversible implications on their whole lives is a GOOD THING??????????????? Is this bizarro world here?

It's a Brave New One, at least. Cool

While I understand your "age" points, consider the differences: drinking, military service, driving....these are all either very skill-based or can impact others.

Being in the LGBTQ community myself, I have long believed that WE ARE BORN THIS WAY. Age Zero. Yes, NO child should go this route without considerable counseling and parental support. But make no mistake: little kids (and usually their parents, too) know this kind of thing about themselves at early ages. When exactly did YOU know you were all male? 5? 10? 15? Probably before 17 or 21, no? Transgendered people ought to be allowed to adjust their genders well before 21, or even 17, imo.

Also, consider what decisions are made for the NEWBORN: removal at birth of extra fingers/toes, or circumcision. Things that are anomalies of nature (or are VERY natural) are often changed in babies. This isn't "bizzarro". I believe that as society's paradigms shift, we'll get more comfortable with just how complex "gender" really is, regardless of what we feel at this moment in time.

If we are going to say 10 year olds are mature enough to radically alter their bodies by going through gender realication, What is the legal reasoning to not allow them full rights as adults? Its absurd on every level IMHO. A mother who always wanted a girl subtly and gently pressures her fourth son to go through gender reallication, which he agrees to at age 10 to please his mother, and you are really okay with this? What is the justification for denying 10 year olds body autonomy for sexual purposes if you allow this?

From a practical standpoint, when is the NCAA going to allow trans women to compete? And what standard will they enforce on those athletes? We all know a really good high school boys team could beat every women's collegiate team out there, so how long before some coach fields a team of men saying they are trans to win it all? How long until there is no longer a place for cis women in women's sports?

First of all, this is NOT ABOUT KIDS TRANSITIONING FOR PURPOSES OF SEXUAL ACTIVITY.

If you could not comprehend my response above to your concerns, I can't really help you more. IMO, your fears are based in some bizarre hypotheticals. I'd suggest you find some info (youtube, TV) on youngsters who are actually transitioning.

Someone needs some serious education. Please read Howee's post and do as he suggests before you post any more on this subject.

Okay since you two don't want to examine the legal ramifications of giving bodily autonomy for sex, how would you justify denying them the legal right to make other body modifications such as ear gauging, tattoos, and piercings? You cannot say this is an apples to oranges comparison......

Now you're just trolling.

But you and Howee act like this type of action would exist in a strict vacuum and not be used to create lawsuits expanding the laws to cover 10 year olds basically having full bodily autonomy to make any modifications and act sexually if they so chose. You are closing your eyes tight shut, ignoring history and precedence and saying "this is only about trans, this is only about trans, this is only about trans" when it clearly won't be just about trans for very long.

Not worth answering. Go back under your bridge.

I do believe YOU are imagining a "history and precedence" that doesn't exist....unless, of course, you might prove that in some way.
