Louisville's 86-59 win over Stanford during Kiana William's freshman Sweet 16 makes me little anxious going into this one.

Let's GO CARD! (Stanford Card, that is)

That's what I thought last night, but it was still stressful!

I think Louisville will be able to hang with Stanford for a chunk of the first half, but the Stanford depth will start to prevail. I expect a lot of 3's to be taken and I think Stanford is better at hitting them than Louisville.

If Brink is protected by the officials Stanford wins. If they allow physical play like the UC-BU game then Louisville has a shot. After no-calling a bunch of stuff last night I expect the refs will be briefed prior to the game.
This is the 4th game in little more than a week for these teams. This is where fatigue can set in, legs tire and outside shooting suffers.

My dark horse for POG is Van Lith. She defers to Evans when they both should be scoring 20+/gm. And she showed she can make a play under duress in the U-19 final against Aus. She can get streaky with 3's. And Stanford's best defender will be on Evans.

But I pick the trees to win and the birds to cover in a low scoring battle.

I may be wrong, but I just don't see this being close. Nothing in the tournament yet has made me reconsider my feeling that Stanford is the best team in the bracket.

Genghis Tree's endless horde of deadly horse archers vs. the second best team in an iffy conference. L'ville's best chance is if all the long archers go amiss all game long.

I will support any team that has the best ability to beat UCONN. Trees or Birds. Steers? I don't think so.

I expect Stanford will win - but I’m hoping for a better fight than the first game.

The amount of times ESPN has showed this pre-recorded skit about the Stanford "Nomads" is second only to that fluff piece about "How Paige made it from Minnesota to Storrs."

Again, just a lack of effort. Find one thing or storyline and beat it into the ground.

So far, Brink looks more active, agile and with a better touch than the somewhat indolent Collier and Boston I just watched.

Does Brink have a lingering injury that anyone is aware of? Why'd she go back to the locker room? Haven't seen this rough of a start from Stanford in quite a while.

Stanford had better figure this out soon or I'll be watching New Amsterdam at 10:00.

Stanford's getting the shots and the rebounds, but they're not hitting their shots... Confused

Louisville is 5-7 from beyond the arc and Stanford cannot even make their FTs. Lucky to be down 8 but this could quickly get away from them.

What’s up with Belibi? Is it just freshman nerves or what? Part of the time she has to be told where to go—as in physically—and some of the time she just stands there. Admittedly, when she does something, it’s special.

And could Tara sit Williams for just a minute and let her gather herself?

Stanford seemed a little tight in the beginning of the game, but now it's snowballed into some collective shock/panic that none of those shots are falling.

Talk about coaching above one's level....Jeff DOES know what he's doing. I may eat crow (again) but I have every faith that The Trees will prevail. Gotta get a rhythm going, gerlz.

Louisville is gonna have to continue shooting at a high percentage because they can’t rebound with them.

Brink is impressive. I’ve liked what I’ve seen of Van Lith too. This freshman class is ridiculous.

This needs to move on. Nothing there.
