Perhaps the last game of the Sharon Versyp era.

well, the hawks better damn well win it then. iowa, at home, trailed purdue by 5 with just 5:00 left to go in the 4th quarter during their lone regular season meeting.

If they keep Versyp, Purdue will never recover. It's really sad to see what's gone on there for this long.

As a newcomer to this board, can anyone say more about Sharon Versyp is unliked?

The sense I get from reading this board over many years is that, under Versyp, the program has been mired in mediocrity for years. No NCAA bids in several years; no top tier finishes in the conference. And with only 4 conference wins this season, it’s a reasonable question to ask whether an underperforming coach should be retained.

I don’t know if she is “unliked” so much as whether Purdue could do better.

Her last four years in B1G conference play have been tied for 7th, tied for 10th, 9th and now 11th.

Bad no call on Clark at end of half.

I liked it as a no-call. Moore slapped Clark hard on the foul, and Clark made the motion but didn’t connect.

45-44 Iowa at the third media break

Clark up to 7 assists. Pretty sure all the assists have been to Czinano.

Clark to Czinano is the new Ionescu to Hebard. Too bad for Iowa's sake that Czinano isn't a freshman like Clark. By the time she graduates, Clark might have to score even more than she already does – although, as highlighted in the broadcast, Iowa is very good at always having a dependable post player on the roster.

Since she took over, she has destroyed what was a consistent Top 10 program.

I was there in person. Cool Czinano had an incredible game. Showing why she deserves 1st-team all big ten. In addition to her points, she really stepped up the rebounding tonight, which has been a weak point in her game at times. Clark is incredible at taking what the defense gives her. The were really contesting her and bringing the double team at the 3-point line, but in the second half she drove to the basket a ton and either got a layup, got fouled and made the FTs, or assisted to Czinano. Iowa's cast of supporting shooters had a really off night. Iowa as a team averages almost 40% on 3-pointers but tonight was only 3/22. Hopefully we got the nerves out of our system and can shoot better tomorrow against Rutgers.

I have high hopes for Sharon Goodman! She is playing better in her freshman season than Czinano did in her own freshman year. Granted, when Czinano was a freshman, Megan Gustafson was a senior, so all Iowa asked of Czinano that year was to come in for about a minute each quarter to give Gustafson a breather. Goodman has played a big role in some games this year since she appears to be a slightly better defender than Czinano, who is at times foul-prone.

Most were to Czinano, but Clark also had some crucial assists on fast breaks to fellow guards Martin and Warnock who were sprinting the floor.
