Wouldn't the occasional profanities during the heat of battle offend her?

Thomas has a husband and two young boys. You figure she might already have a fairly colorful vocabulary.

I watched part of this game. They were talking about her being the first woman to officiate a bowl game and after that I forgot about her.

Hopefully the profanities didn't offend her Rolling Eyes and hopefully she's not hearing them from her young boys.

She'd probably prefer it that way. Most of the post game stories have been about the 1/3 capacity crowd.

That's pretty poor attendance.

SOmething that I really liked during the bowl games was that they had an official or supervisor of officials available to explain some of the calls more that the on-field official did at the time (at least the couple I watched). The announcers would say that the refs had made the wrong call and then the official would come in and correct them. Smile

I'd love to see this for basketball. I'm sure that finding money to pay them would be an issue (excuse). Maybe during the NCAA tourney games would be a good place to start something like this.

I think that golf has had a rules person available to explain some of the rulings that come up.

Basketball games have more calls and less downtime than football games or golf rounds. That might make it difficult to do that sort of thing.

Agreed. I guess I'm just hopeful that there won't be that many that need to be explained. Smile
