This is an article on the Michigan Men’s team’s Covid process. I was interested to see that the conference is paying for all of the daily testing, but the cost will be reduced from revenue sharing.

Since the season started on Nov. 25, the testing has been daily. Provided by a third-party vendor contracted by the Big Ten, the testing takes place at the Junge Family Champions Center, the building between Crisler and Michigan Stadium. (The Big Ten is footing the bill for all schools, so members benefit from economy of scale, but the conference will deduct the cost from schools’ share of TV money.)
Between 7 and 11 a.m., 500 to 600 people affiliated with the Michigan athletic department are given an antigen test via anterior nasal swab. When classes resume next week, the timing allows players to test before their first class. |
