55-26 at the half. Hillmon and Leigha Brown both have 20. The Wolverines shot a blazing 74% from the field.

71-46 end of 3Q. Michigan is slowing down a bit (still with only 8 players available).
Hillmon 24/11, 75% FG, 85.7 FT.
Leigha Brown 22, 4-4 beyond the arc.

Things I want to hear about in my Michigan @ Northwestern game, no matter how much of a blowout it is:
-play by play of the actual game
-color commentary about Michigan
-color commentary about Northwestern
-some chatter about Big Ten WBB in general, in context
-score updates from important WBB games (ranked teams, Big Ten teams {not that I personally place more importance on the Big Numerically Challenged, but again, in context}, mid-majors to watch)
Things I do not want to hear about in my Michigan @ Northwestern game, no matter how much of a blowout it is:
-Auriemma chasing Summitt's win total and still referring to it as a record
-a promise/threat that the second half will be full of Baylor-UConn analysis
-someone trying to claim the rest of the country hadn't heard about Paige Bueckers yet
-Shaka Smart's hair (or Texas sports in general)
-praise of an Ohio State football player (or college football in general). Read the promo and move on.
-Steph Curry (or the NBA in general). Read the promo and move on.
Roy, Brooke, I'm sorry y'all are bored and distracted by shiny objects, but do try to focus.
{edited for additional note: the only reason they're not the broadcast team I'm angriest at today is because CBSSN kept misgendering Bry Cavanaugh whenever they brought up why Fordham did not have the services of the reigning A-10 player of the year}

hmmm. I think Northwestern has nobody over 6' tall and no inside game. Just like Depaul. Which means that any good team with a good big should stomp them. ONO would look like an allstar against them like she did against Depaul. |

In general I put Brooke in a similar category with most of the P12 announcers...and that's not exactly a category of excellence.

The Pac-12 crews actually don't sound terrible after an afternoon of second-tier ESPN commentators. I just feel like it wouldn't be such a big deal to ask commentators to... pretend to care?... about the game they're doing, instead of seizing on every promo as an excuse not to.

Agreed. It'd be nice if most commentators fell into that happy medium. But if I had to choose a side, I'd pick the overexcited/overly excitable commentators that tend to yell into their mic when ya least expect it over the seemingly disinterested ones who comment on anything other than the game their being paid to watch & comment on. (So here's to you, Ann Schatz, even when you won't stop saying "Oh, baby!" at a better-than-average-but-still-arguably-closer-to-average-than-spectacular play.)
